What do you mean what is the point? Is it not inRP for people on one end of Sirius to not know anything about people on the other end?
Do you know anything about what I've been involved in, McNeo? I bet not.
Yeah Agmen, I knew about the planet the ducks blew up, but that's about it since I don't play Core nor Order and generally avoid the Omicrons, because asteroids.

And you would be entirely correct.
Not sure what your point about inRP knowledge is, since this thread is in rules. Surely it makes sense to familliarise yourself with the roleplay of a particular area before you enter it, so at least you know what is and what is not a rule violation?

This thread may be in the rules section, but this is what you said.
And no, I should not 'have to' read up on the roleplay of an area to avoid a rule violation. That's what the server rules and IDs are for, they say you can do x and y but not z.
But please, continue with the attitude, it's quite endearing, really.
Oh the banter people get into, when they want to kill people faster, without much Roleplay beforehand, now 'THIS' is quite amusing to watch. I can see where peoples priorities are.
If you enjoy shooting things without saying, by all means. Go ahead. If its right or not? That's be between two definitions of 'right'.
Right: For the enjoyment of 'all' players included, yourself, and the target. (Nomad vessel? We are people too)
Right: FOR THE MOTHERLANDS AND PvP WHICH WE WILL ALL MURDER EACH OTHER BECAUSE FUN
(lack of grammar intended, personal bias on what I think of such, forgive it)
Keep in mind that Discovery Freelancer was made for people to enjoy, there are guidelines within the Rules of this specific server, but remember that some people like to RP, some people don't. If you are afraid one side has an unfair advantage, see what you can do with it ingame. Make it enjoyable. when you have a problem with what the reactions are, let the opposing player know.
If you cannot have fun, Discovery has failed as a game. Taking everything seriously is good, just don't let it get out of hand.
Thats my moral lesson for the day.
Although, if you want a legit answer to the engagement stuff, please read post number two on page one.

I'm not necessarily arguing that it should be one way or the other. I'm just saying, whatever it is, it should be the same amongst all parties. The rules should not favor one side over the other. Fair = fun

And is it really so difficult to actually 'let the other party know' if you are not having fun?
I don't understand why you are against things being slightly unbalanced. The Nomads especially right now, the K'Hara are ruled strictly internally, when things go awry, people do contact myself, and things 'will' get sorted out to how they should be.
If you have a problem, 'let us know'. If any nomad player is to ignore a legitimate concern from another, we are going to have a problem with the Nomad player.
Of course, there are a lot of complaints where people are just angry that we killed them in a strange way, but honestly? The reasoning for most of that, is because the player ingame did something stupid, Insulted us, or did something which ticked us off. What else did you expect to happen?

Make all ships the same hitbox and stats. Make all guns equally powerful. Create one ID that can shoot everything and be shot at by everything.

There you go. Fair. The same amongst all parties.
Or is that not what you wanted?
You don't need to make everything exactly the same in order for two opposing sides to be fairly balanced and you know that. Side A has an advantage in one area, side B has an advantage in another area. They're both better at something than the other is, but they cancel each other out.
However one side being able to engage immediately and silently, while the other side has to wait and type out roleplay, is a huge advantage for the nomads.
I can't tell if you honestly can't see that or if you're just trolling me.

You should know by now that I'm not talking about the K'hara. I'm talking about the indies.
Oh sure, let me just whisper the nomads that just uncloaked and started blasting away at me without a word, and tell them I'm not having any fun. I'm sure they will stop shooting. Yep.
And if you're flying anything smaller than a battleship, you probably won't even last long enough to do that. But np, np. Please, continue arguing for this like it's in any way balanced. /nerdrage off >_>
