This looks really cool, but with that shape it's going to be mad easy to hit, and I'm guessing it would probably be very slow as well.
One possibility would be to give it 8 regular cruiser turrets (not heavies, which is what cruisers get their firepower from). It would have a heavy gunboat power core (not a cruiser core) so that these turrets would be pretty heavy on it (for example, 8 cruiser solaris turrets, including a 600k capacity and 60k regen, would drain the core in 4 seconds, and the cruiser solaris turrets deal a mere 3,600 dps).
This would allow it to be unique (like junker ships tend to be) without actually being overpowered, considering how bulky and slow it will most likely be.

To fit in with the theme of Junker ships ending in 'Ler', how about Grabbler?
Collector, Gitano, Salvager, Combat Service Freighter... I can only think of one junker ship that ends in "ler", and that would be the Recycler.
Anyway, Grabbler doesn't quite feel right. How about Grappler?
Almost every faction in the game has a cruiser, and most of them even have battlecruisers and/or battleships, including factions like IMG, hessians, and zoners.
I don't see why it would make any sense for Junkers to not even get a gunboat, considering how widespread and wealthy the Congress is with its questionable business dealings.
Inferno - It is similar with Hogosha, who don't have a gunboat either. But, both groups have transports that effectively act as a gunboats i.e. Raba and Salvager. So while they don't have cruisers or higher, they do have what is effectively gunboats WITH the benefit of cargo. Better imo.
Nice model and texture. I like the big tank on the front, too.
I second Inferno on compensating the large hitbox with something. Though that is a balancing issue.
Suggestion: make it the new model for the Salvager (maybe with a bit less cargo? I dunno), and the current Salvager could become an underpowered cruiser, along with a suggestion that was posted above.

Does anyone have a copy of the unencoded original shiparch.ini?
Don't worry about the ini side of things. I can easily take care of that part.
And nice model by the way.
Thats fine, I' just trying to test the model in game make sure the size, texture, sur, and hardpoints all work correctly. I usually just replace the mat and cmp, and sur files for the rhino at Manhattan in the original freelancer but I don't have a shiparch that is readable.
