The scale of that is just beyond anything we can experience from a cockpit. We would still need to use telescopes for that particular view, even if we were capable of completely traversing our own galaxy (which would be amazing enough).
So beautiful yet so far away and unreachable.
Space, the dilemma of my life that always taunts me.
Y'know, when the sky is nice and clear over here in Berkshire, I like to take a walk around the lovely area around here. There's this one golf course that has a hill with a bench on top that overlooks the entire illuminated town area. I don't look at that though. Cities are boring, what could be better than space?
Call me sad, but I like to sit on that bench and look up into the night sky and imagines my gaze is directly casting itself onto an alien who is also looking directly back at me through space. I like to think that some day I can sit next to that person so we can both look at the stars.
