It still looks incredibly stupid to give a cap tag to a fighter. You won't name your F-16 "U.S.S. Roger Steves"...

It's consumerism in it's nutshell -> the users of LN ships are using LNS tag on everything because it's easier to group up and communicate that way. Usability overthrows the pre-set old logic behind the LNS tag.

Here you can try to invent a new tag that will part the fighters from caps while providing the same features and try to force it into the massive usage or to deal with it.

Why not LNS- for caps and LNF- for fighters?

LNS stands for Liberty Navy Ship. Last I checked, fighters were ships too

LNS- is a tag for Capitals. Why not just use the LN- tag as previously established? Being lazy is being lazy. And lame.

Despite we are being space, fighters are still rather analogous to RL's aircrafts than (battle)ships. Again, you don't really see any fighters sporting the HMS tag in the British Air Force or whatever it is called. That is because it is meant for capital class vessels, not snubcraft.

Real life comparisons don't work because we would be comparing 2 completely different categories against 1

It's okay, while it's confusing, it's usually more of a relief to discover we've over-prepared and encountered a snub than under-prepared and discovered a capital ship. In all honesty though, it doesn't really matter what tag they use, they still explode the exact same. Smile

Wait comparisons do you want then the vanilla game LNS was for cap si-fi show and move and books cap get Tag meaning that nation it from and class and/or Hull class. Small fighter craft normal get call sign or code name/nick name.
