It would be quite unbalanced and if it will happen, for sure most of pirates in Liberty would instantly turn into hackers (so Liberty will turn into pirate hive while other houses will suffer lack of pirates) because it is huge advantage to be able to track all cargo ships (but also lawfuls coming your way) through lanes and scan their cargo.

So this is the case when something what makes sense inRP could quite harm game balance.

On a ragebreak. Or ragequit. Time will tell.

I think that for contrary be good. everyone would be terrified of lane hackers. But then you can outbalance the adds by letting lane hackers be partially open faction. With some good ID more focused on inflitrating and compromising rather than pure robbery.

or the item that activates it will be Spyglass Scanner, however since this item is not unlawful(although it would be declared if this will happen) other entities such as traders or bounty hunters will use them
^ this will be more balanced if it will open for all factions and let's face it..since it's hard to find players to interact with ,this could help a lot by creating more player interaction in such a vast empty space Big Grin

People want to believe that God has a plan for them.
They don't wanna believe that anyone else does..

This would need a lot of consideration. For example I think it will be final nail for police factions (which were always fightining with existence problem - GRP and KSP already died, BPA is on edge of extinction too) because TLAGSNET is the last special thing they have at the moment. Why play police if you can have more powerful ships and bigger ZOI as military but with TLAG ability... Also, how can you catch pirates if they can see you are approaching them via lane. They can use it for the opposite - to avoid interaction with your lawful.

And I don´t think it will help much creating more player interaction. If some house is dead, TLAG will not make it more alive. If house is not dead, you can find interaction if you want even without TLAG.

In my experience, it´s still not that hard to find interaction if you want it these days, what is hard is to find players which are willing and able to provide good RP encounter. And we (unfortunately) don´t have TLAG which can identify and show you these players.

either:

1) tlagsnet is op and needs a nerf
2) smuggling is underpaid and needs a buff
3) all of the above

Does anyone even use it?

Nearly all lawfuls I see in Liberty are Navy players, which seems stupid when you can play a Police char and have all that extra information at your finger tips.

Not only that, but Police chars are more interesting and fun to RP.

TLAGSNET is not OP, because if people had any sense, they'd use the jumpholes and avoid the lanes, smuggling should be buffed to account for this however, as it takes longer using the JHs.

It seems like they calculated the profit/time on lane usage, and that's not what smuggling is about.

I would love it if they buffed smuggling, it would actually be worthwhile doing, and a fun high risk activity. They did buff it, but not enough.

It would give the players that actually play Police chars something to do other than pew lawfuls.

@ Thargoid

Smuggling was buffed to the level when it's nearly two times more profitable than normal trading, not to mention Black Market Munitions to Leeds satellite which is profitable at over 50k credits/second. All you need is a group of one 5ker and one freighter, in two players you can earn more than any lawful trader or miner will ever get.

But... TLAGSnet is truly OP. Even not for smugglers - just for cops themselves.

Do you know why there's no more police players around? Because "nobody" is stupid enough to use a TL/JG, when carrying any hot stuff on board.
No risk - no fun, I know; but this risk is simply too high. That makes TLAGSnet... USELESS.

This is my opinion. Thank you. Smile
