Renaming non-existant ship types on a real-lfe surface ship basis, why?

I am sure there are a lot more changes that impact gameplay that are on the list than a "re-arranging deckchairs" exercise.

Gunships, as befitting their size and operation style, are better referred as Fast Attack Craft.

as to the Corvette/Frigate debate, the words these days (and in the future probably) are interchangable. so we'd still have the same problem.
