Adding activity trackers for indies in order to promote faction activity.

You know, there are ways to encourage people play. To have them take pride in their ID and the NPC faction they RP.

In official factions it might be ranking. However, I propose us to add specific ''independent'' tags to the activity tracker in order to give them something to smile at.

LNS, MNS, CNS, and their non-capital relatives. Give independents a tag they can slap on to show off their colors proudly, that they are glad to fly that ID.

It worked well in the past, it should work well now as well.

Maybe freelancer global stat is working? It tracks down all the chars and tags.

Its nice to be able to check my factions activity, without having to become an official OC faction and then dying a horrid death like all the others seem to be.. no offence intended there.

I was under the impression it was removed due to our wonderful cheating/disgruntled members, in particular the DDOS attacks

Over the last 2 days, we've been moving the forum and wiki to its own server to reduce the load on the game server, possibly reduce lag and add a little more DDOS resiliency.

There are still a few things to do before this task is complete but all major facilities seem to be working again.

The server files interface "http://discoverygc.com/server/" will remain offline for an indefinite period of time although possibly not permanently.

While not all of the old functionality is currently available (for reasons beyond my knowledge), the OP's suggestion could simply be implemented just the same way as official factions have their activity displayed. I don't see how it could do any harm.

I may be missing something here, but wasn't this already officially implemented by the administration team a few weeks ago in the latest update of the server rules?

EDIT: Ah, right, nevermind. I did miss your main point. You're suggesting that they should actually be adding those specific non-faction/group tags to the tracker, which are not covered by the recent rule changes. I agree; it would be interesting to see.

EDIT2: Hidamari, you can already request to have your faction added to the tracker if you've got a tag that they can add and six months of in-game presence. Take a look at the quote below from the latest revision of the rules for more information.

2. To start the process of approval, the faction needs to provide the administrators team with 500 million credits. The amount will only be refunded if the faction gains official status. Once the process starts, faction tag will also be added to the Faction Activity tracker. Long-lasting unofficial factions and groups with constant activity of at least six months can also post a request here for their tags to be added to the tracker.
