Brief Description:
Republican Shipping is a Rheinland shipping giant, that also maintains one of the largest commercial shipyards in the Sirius sector. The Company manages a substantial majority of all cargo transported within the borders of Rheinland. Republican is the exclusive supplier for all Federal Police installations in Rheinland. It is the premier Rheinland shipping firm. If it weren't for the massive debts that Rheinland accumulated during the 80-Years War, Republican would still be the only shippers in Rheinland space.
Company Goals:
1. Create new shipping traffic within Rheinland space. Intra-House shipping is within it's prime and shows the rest of Sirius it's abilities to fuel itself (Outside of actual fuel) materially.
2. Improve it's shipping fleet to the Highest standards of Sirius. Through research and improvement of the folly of the Uruz Transport, it's newest model gave way to new ideas into improving it's aging shipping designs.
3. Recreate it's public image. Through donations and assistance to the public, showing proof that a company can do the right thing for the people will slow the creation of public unrest and give Rheinland Economy new life.
4. Eisenbahn and Munich Projects. Create Sirius's first High Speed lane network to increase the speed of Rheinlands shipping cabalilites; Assist in cleanup and our Agricultural holdings of Planet Nuremburg.
5. Rebuild Bonn into the proper Center of Commerce in Rheinland. Through the use of lobbying with the Federal Polizei, we may continue to gain support into finally gaining ownership of the station. Upon which time, our staff that was moved from Ingolstadt during the Munich disaster may finally have proper offices on Bonn.
6. Active use, development and improvement Hyperspace technologies in trade .
7. Aiding the allied and friendly organisations of Rheinland in delivering supplies within the borders. Help build healthy relations with business corporations with whom the company forecasts mutual and respectful deals and profits .
8. Active assistance to Rheinland Police.
History of Development
Republican Shipping has a long past. It started long before the 80-years war. Back then, the company was known as Imperial Shipping. Republican Shipping were the major government shipping company and we did aid the Rheinland Imperial Forces in all ways we could during all the difficult times that it faced.
Republican Shipping aka Imperial shipping during that time, set the first foot in establishing themselves by building Freiburg Station. Freiburg Station was constructed in 312 A.S. as a clearinghouse for produce harvested on Stuttgart. It remained as a central collection place where participants maintained an account against which credits or debits were posted.
The Imperial Shipping then heightened their reverent relations with other Rheinland corporations and Police, with the establishment of Alster Shipyard. The shipyard opened in 412 AS, specializing in commercial transports and heavy lifters.
The Shipyard was acclaimed the most profitable installations for the company during that period until the unfortunate accident occurred in 512 A.S.
Three months later, the workers formed the Alster Union. Because of their highly specialized skills, the management had no choice but to capitulate to their demands. During the next century the union gradually strengthened and eventually included the dockworkers on the Altona Station above Hamburg.
When the 80-Years War broke out, The Company was sitting pretty on a mountain of government subsidies and contracts.
By the end of the 80-Years War, the union demanded increasingly high wages and progressively fewer annual hours. The system was out of balance. Republican was no longer competitive with Kusarian shipbuilders.
After the end of the war, Rheinland’s economy and government was collapsing in on itself, which directly affected the government contracts that already were under production in Alster.
With Liberty giving a large loan, Imperial Shipping managed to finish the on-going contracts and deliveries.
Adding to the difficulties was even another incident in history that shaped the company Republican is now.
On Von Rohe's Day, 672 A.S., Daumann mining stations in Dresden were seized and locked down by miners in a widespread general strike. Supplied by Bundschuh revolutionaries, the miners managed to hold out on the station for weeks before word finally got out to the rest of Rheinland. Three months later, workers disabled other Daumann facilities on Planet New Berlin, joining in the protests. With the industrial heart of the economy grinding to a halt, riots beginning to pop up all across Rheinland. The Union of Imperial Shipping actively took part in the revolt despite the order of the executives which had asked them to step down their support.
There were no more government contracts, and unemployment skyrocketed.
A period of tense negotiations follows, and a coalition government is eventually formed, and the former empire would now become a federal republic.
Imperial Shipping became Republican Shipping after the Popular Revolt and thus it got formally announced on 672 A.S.
With the war over, demand for ships plummeted. The bloated headcount of Alster was now a sore point for Republican Shipping, desperately trying to restore profitability.
This shipyard was once controlled by the unions, who demanded ever higher wages and longer vacations.
Republican could afford their extravagant demands during the Eighty Years War. But when the hard times hit, we had to make adjustments in order to remain profitable. Republican Shipping had no choice other than decreasing the working staff. They looked for assets and started numbering the liabilities. With a stipulated grade pay, they had to fire them.
Unfortunately, the workers felt the company was backstabbing them. The Company tried to reason with them but only in vain. They soon started to disrupt our convoys which made them move up the acclivity of our hostility and so with the Rheinland Police.
While the Alster Shipyards continues to operate, Republican Shipping in conjunction with the Rheinland Federal Police have managed to purge out most of the (so called) Unioners from the facility.
Soon after, Republican built a base with their newly formed and staffed members, Altona Station was re-established in 706 A.S. to handle all the goods flowing into Rheinland from Liberty, It has been an important base for Republican Shipping for over a century. In recent years, especially with the increasing tensions with Liberty, business onboard the station has slowly been declining in favour of relatively new warehouse facilities on the surface of planet Hamburg.
With the outbreak of war between Rheinland and Liberty in 712 A.S., the Altona Station is finding itself in an increasingly Military role. The close proximity to Hamburg and the Docking Ring already had been providing a moderate level of security to the station and with a slowly increasing Military garrison, enhanced armor and a new turret defense system the station is being used as the first line of defense against Libertonian attacks against Hamburg now.
Ingolstadt Station was constructed in 730 A.S., a considerable amount of time after the initial colonisation of the planet Nuremberg, in order to handle the ever increasing exports of military vehicles from Nuremberg. Most of the space onboard the station is taken up with secure storage bays for the vehicles, and dozens of ships dock with the orbital facility every day.
After the Nomad War ended in 801 A.S., Republican Shipping decided to move its center of operations to the Munich system, and although there are large corporate offices planet side, Ingolstadt Station was expanded considerably with additional modules to accommodate the increased administrative workforce, and now serves as the headquarters for the Republican Shipping Corporation throughout Rheinland.
In recent years security has been tightened considerably around the station after the Unioners have expanded their operations in the Munich system. After an attack by the Unioners in 815 A.S., which left over seven hundred personnel onboard the station dead, Republican Shipping has requested additional weapons platforms to bolster defenses.
Present days
On 819 .A.S. Gallia had secretly been constructing a Jump Gate in the Rishiri system and several weeks after the Kusari Republican Government has reached a trade agreement with the Kingdom of Gallia, opening their respective borders for commercial traffic. The small group of Republican Shipping’s pilots were sent to Gallia to investigate a new way and establish a cooperative relationship.Though the way appeared not short it became clear that Kingdom of Gallia is interested in mutually beneficial trade cooperation and is ready to buy necessary goods at the high price. Supply of ore and diamonds appeared the most needed and Republican readily agreed to supply hem what was needed. The problem was only one, the long range, but to general good luck, our technological team sorted this out.The Company decided to use all the new opportunities combined with latest technologies for making shipments easier to Gallian territories.

589-668 A.S. – Eighty Years War, leading to weakened economic and Rheinland currency suffering from extreme devaluation, that hampered Government contracts.
672 A.S. – Revolt took place in Rheinland Territories and the Union in Alster taking part without the consent of Imperial Executives.
672-673 A.S. – Federal Republic Government established in Rheinland. Republican Shipping formed.
706 A.S. – Altona Station was re-established.
730 A.S. -- Ingolstadt Station was constructed.
801 A.S. – After Nomad War, Republican Shipping decided to move its centre of operations to the Munich system
817A.S. – Liberty-Rheinland War. Altona militarisation begins.
Present Times and future Goals:
Republican Shipping has reinforced its strong foundations to provide itself a burnished future along which the company plans to carry forward its motility.
After few years of average profits and occasional hikes for the employees, the Republican Executive staffs have been freshly selected and assigned different positions according to their visions and plans.
The Company has planned out a 3-month assignment sketch up, which they will be following to meet the company’s requirements and as well have the trust of the government so as to work back again effectively on the contracts and deals provided.
There have been ideas, models and planned details about increasing security at our headquarters at Munich. The Company is still looking to enhance more Business deals onboard the Altona station, also keeping the warehouse facilities sustained at surface of Hamburg.
We will also be dealing with the proposed models of some Transports at Alster station, but to be more precise, we will be carrying on with the design and would be focusing more on supplying the ships to the companies and fulfilling our demands.
The company will also be looking to advance itself and rely a bit on jump technologies for farther stretches of Sirius, where reaching through regular routes combined with Pirate-threats could be tiresome. Also the contract and the tender for the jump technology and ships will be dealt later.
Bases:
Alster Shipyard, ( Hamburg )
Constructed by Republican Shipping, the Alster Shipyard specializes in the construction of freight ships and transports. However, the shipyard is more commonly known for its role in the formation of the Unioner movement. After the economic collapse of Rheinland after the 80 year war. Republican was forced to scale back operations on Hamburg and the Alster Shipyard. In an attempt to cut costs, Republican fired hundreds of shipwrights and thousands of laborers on the surface, citing it had no work left for them. In truth, the company was getting rid of any members of the "Alster Union", a laborer rights organisation that had dominated the labor negotiations with Republican for years.The Unioners reacted violently to their expulsion, and began an armed campaign against Republican, which continues to this day.
The Alster shipyard is still in operation. In the years up to the Nomad War, the yard was pressed into the construction of smaller military ships. Many of these ships are still in service, and the yard does still see the occasional contract from the Rheinland Military. Most of its jobs are civilian however - the Republican, Kruger and ALG transport fleets are largely maintained at Alster. Attacks by Unioner raiding parties looking to disrupt operations at Alster are frequent, but usually routed quickly by Rheinland Military from Westfallen, and Rheinland Police from Lubeck.
Altona Station ( Hamburg )
Originally built in 326 A.S. to handle all the goods flowing into Rheinland from Liberty and back, Altona Station has been an important base for Republican Shipping for centuries. Prior to the 80 year war, Liberty transports were required to transfer their cargo at Altona - usually Copper, Silver or Cobalt. After the 80 year war this practise ended. Part of the Rheinland bailout deal was that Liberty shipping companies would have access to goods throughout Rheinland, bypassing Republican. Altona became obsolete overnight.
Since then, it has been converted in an orbital storage depot, but even in that role it is being passed over for storage facillities on Planet Hamburg - which are more secure from Unioner attacks. Altona faces an uncertain future as a result.
The Station is located at 4F sector, Hamburg. There are few of the once numerous dock workers left at this station. Automated machinery and declining shipping traffic have both taken their toll. Sadly, many of them have turned to piracy as the solution to their problems. But the company looks at this station with a lot of future plans. The most prioritized issue will be increasing deals in Altona and making it a busier zone than what it is now. Issue about piracy will be dealt with the strictest way possible.
Freiburg Station ( Stuttgart )
Freiburg Station was originally constructed in 312 AS as a clearinghouse for produce harvested on Stuttgart and goods coming from and going to Bretonia. Currently, Freiburg is still used by Bretonian shippers who prefer not to travel deeper into Rheinland, but it also supplies the extensive mining operations in Omega-7.
Ingolstadt Station ( Munich )
It is the current Headquarters of the Republican Shipping. The Company has made a unanimous decision of increasing its security and defence platforms. The Head Council resides there and all decisions are made and voted here.
Mainz Storage Facility ( Frankfurt )
The turning point in its history came when the reformed Rheinland government decided to change it into a way station for foreign shipping, to encourage freight companies to expand. The Mainz station was set out for auction in early 694 A.S., and Republican Shipping, Rheinland's leading transport company, managed to buy it out in a winning bid. The last military personnel were evacuated from the station a year later. The newly renovated Mainz Storage Facility was officially opened for business in 702 A.S. Its H-Fuel tanks left over from the war with the GMG were refurbished as a valuable asset, and the station legally became the drop-off point for Kusari fuel heading into Rheinland. Nowadays, the Mainz Storage Facility is one of the biggest shipping ports in Rheinland, invaluable to both the economy and shipment security in Frankfurt.It’s the first stop for any Transport hauling H-fuel from Kusari. From here the, Republican ships carry on the fuels with their transports. It’s the biggest shipping port and the company looks to maintain its standard and lustre the way it is.
