I bought a new driveless rig last week and flipped my old FL-installed laptop to my daughter for her college use.
While waiting for a portable drive to arrive, I have discovered Steam.
Not that there's great games there, or not many, but I find that as a forumlancer I get to enjoy, and help, this awesome community without being lambasted by in-game drama - for the most part.
I'm not sure this is a bad thing.
I used to feel the same - then I quit and learned how to organise myself.
Life for me is now a compromise - Disco does not take up every second of my day anymore, nor prevent me from doing other things. I enjoy it as a past time and just seem to be a better person ingame because of it.
Hate to be a space phallus, but willpower - learn it.

Gaming is okay. It's same as any things that are interesting to certain groups of people. Some people like sports, some people likes beer, some people likes to watch TV endlessly - every one have something that is attractive to his personal interest. I don't blame people who like to watch TV for the whole evening, for example, and I don't want them to blame on me for stacking on PC for few hours. It's just different colors if you're following.
So there is no shame in having interest in something (except for child porn and some other things maybe, but oh well). I like to play games - games on PC are the same as any other games like chess or whatever it is. Game is a set of rules and goals - so to put it simply - FL is just a different type of chess in some certain approximation.
If you get bored - get out and have a beer\girl\whatever joy - but don't need to think that games are something bad. Something bad is 'overdoing', yes. But this have nothing to do with the games itself - you can overdo with anything - TV, drugs, beer, vundersexx. So it's a matter of perspective.
