Psst... we have free nomad battleships. Y in? Just tell this nobody, k[∀]y?
I am high, and I am yanking chains. Good discussions don't come from people simply just reading over one persons opinion, but from people having too make a point and prove another wrong.
The 'skypefriends' dig was merely to get you all jumping up and down and discussing the issue at hand, and the best arguments and discussions come from my previous paragraph; the need to prove another wrong.
And you all took the bait well, so keep discussing.
[LN], GRN, Reavers, K'Hara are of the same clique, not GRN/KNF/RM
Get it right.
Spud...No, just no. The [LN] may share -some- members with some of those groups, but it's certainly not anything close to what's being insinuated; that everyone in [LN] is in those groups too, that's just incorrect and inaccurate.
Pff just because everyone isn't in those groups don't mean that that isn't exactly what most of the most active members are doing most of the time. Admittedly less in the last weeks, but very much before that (before the last leadership change actually)
"Oh lol stand down you indie that's not fair like that lol wait why is that cloaked Marduk always in Magellan same time as GRN pure coincidence lol Im too busy right now Ill come to help when ur dead lol"

Back to da Gallia...
Did you guys ever wonder how awesome this mod could have been if there had never been any Gallia and all the effort wasted on it had been invested into something fun and compatible with Freelancer lore, and if every update wasn't cursed to be forced to follow an absolutely idiotic storyline revolving about space-frenches that shouldn't even exist? Consider my jimmies thoroughly rustled, sir.
It's quite true that the [LN] and GRN share a number of members, me being one of them. It's hardly universal though, nor is sort of situation you're describing accurate. The encounters I've had with the K'Hara on my GRN character have genuinely been out of the blue. As a consequence of those encounters, she's far from inclined towards firing on the nomads if she can avoid it. I wasn't present for the Marduk incident you're referring to, so I'll refrain from comment there, but I resent the implication that characters behaving in a way that reflects their previous experience instantly equals skypefriends messing with people for giggles.

People who were around before Gallia don't have to "wonder' how awesome it was. There wasn't always a Gallia, you know. That having been said I've always liked the idea but found the implementation piss poor. Too late to go back on it now, however.
As for the GRN/LN/Reavers/K'Hara sharing players you're partly right, but it's more of a split line than a square. [LN] and GRN| Share members, GRN shares members with K'hara and Reavers, but those two have minimal overlap with each other, etc. Anyway I doubt you want a boring lecture on Disco cliques.
Anyway I'm inclined to believe that putting a house, in RP, into a no win scenario is just as boring as creating no win scenarios ingame (You know, five fighters dogpiling on to one, etc). Yes, it might be strategically/tactically sound, but it doesn't leave very much room for creativity or fun.
And despite being the evil Liberty Fuhrer or whatever I am these days, I'm not going to make some funny joke that Liberty can handle three different houses in RP, even if we somehow managed to beat them all ingame every day. (Which there simply aren't enough people to do anyway).
Oh and just to make my position clear, I think a Liberty/Kusari war would be great for both houses and make a lot of sense. I just think the boring old Liberty/Rheinland conflict ought to go down the drain already, but Rheinland isn't up for that even if given a new enemy.

I've never been a fan of Gallia. It was executed poorly in 4.85 and shouldn't have been further expanded like it was in 4.86 and 4.87. Unfortunately we can't simply just remove the whole house. But it would just have been much easier if we didn't have a Gallia to remove in the first place.
The lore direction in 4.84 and the non-Gallic stuff in 4.85 was so much more cool than the whole of 4.86's lore, imo.
As an aside, Macbeth V, v., 26-28 is the best way to stealth insult someone ever.
