So,the current Nephilim will be made into another whale of some kind?In that case,I havent seen that many whales around,except for the ones that powertrade.This adds to more lolwuttery in the game.
Also,it would be nice if the stats of these ships come out,so that there can be a better point based argument here,along with constructive stat changes.If not it is like throwing a stone in the dark,without knowing what it might hit.
EDIT:And as Red said,it also kills the indy Zoners activity.Afterall,who would want to fly a restricted whale while they can fly house ships,transport ores and still earn large amount of profit despite the house relations?They can smuggle things in a Junker/FL Ptrains if they want to earn a meagre profit with increased access to systems or want to just explore new trade routes without being shot at.
Well, that's to be honest interesting. I don't mention for the years Zoners have same stuff as other factions. People get used to Zoner caps loved them and hate them, make interactions, developing the story of some colony ship or mobile freeport, or use it in some kind of major RP project. While disco getting so old as game, don't you think it's a lame move, remove something what's people really enjoy?
Anyway, lets imagine - Zoners haven't caps, but army of transport types, no real routes with income, defenseless, and on final note - ID still remain 3600 restriction. I'd say it's not a nerf, but will of devs on turning Zoners into another dead faction.
Not sure about other Zoner players, but I rather play some other game, than trying to enjoying on ruins of favor faction.
Also, I'd like to mention, it's not first time an attempt to remove Zoner caps(which almost come into real). But majority of Zoner players were against it. Seems devs policy is no more about cooperation between players and developers, which is sad news.
Question - do you even need to change the ship models? Couldn't you just use the same models for the Neph and Aquillon and just adjust the stats? Especially if folks do like the current look and it isn't an import?
I'm really interested with all due respect that what will you expect with this Zoner cap nerf? How should Zoner players will behave after this? We should be a boring trader faction in the dead and very under-populated Omicrons, crossing fingers for possible pirate/nomad interaction for having some fun? Or what are your expectations? Why do you want to mess with the few persistent idiot who still like to play with this old game? Yeah, I like the Zoner cap-line, it looks awesome and - while I don't really fly them - love to see them in-game as they cruise in the wilds of the Omicrons.
You will turn Zoners into simple traders without a reasonable trade route, risking that they will be another dead faction, while now it is probably one of the most attractive.
Also, I would like to ask that why it is a no-way option to make Zoner caps SRP-only ships? If you feel that it breeds elitism, let the admins handle it, not the official factions. Admins are not biased, aren't they. SRP requests are handled much faster nowadays, so why not? Maybe I missed it before, but I've never read a TRULY reasonable answer to this idea.
Anything that goes along the line of modifying the current Zoner shipline will severly affect the indy groups and to some extent,the official factions(since I am sure that official factions may circumvent one way or other to get their activity rising).This includes acquiring SRP for Zoner caps.
As there are not many Zoner indys and not many active disco players in all,it is better to keep things in a fun based gameplay,while at the same time,not being light on the RP part.Doing so would increase the activity on the servers and also would not encourage the vets to quit Disco in all.The game is already healthy RP wise,with enough vets guiding us and following the path of RP.
So it would be nice and meaningful if more fun quotient is added to the game rather than destroying the already available fun quotient.Afterall,games are meant to be time passers and for fun away from RL.I see no point in tightening the already legitimate rules and restricitng the "common people" in this community to all the eye candies that some reckon are to be exclusively acquired by official factions.
About the Nephilim replacement model, errm. Wouldn't that be a nightmare to fly in the Omicrons? It looks like the struts would catch on every single asteroid ever. Otherwise, it looks amazing!
right now the TAZ have one and the phoenix have one. those two ships will be converted to nephilims ( current ones ) - and the leviathan model will be removed from the mod. - they will become two actual military grade flagships - getting the current nephlims stats and model and serve as what the original intent of the juggernaut was for ( minus the lore of awesomeness and plus the stigma of balance )
Will people be able to do a SRP for this ship? For example I would like to, I bought mine because its a colony ship, not because its a battleship. It will pretty much mess up my Zoner Academy for orphaned zoners if I get switched to a cargo ship?
Im asking now as I need to know if I should even bother continuing my Zoner Academy RP and sell of my ships.
I wont bother arguing about the changes as its clear there going to be made either way but these changes are a bummer.

So I think it would be better to give the new Nephilim the current model with nerfed guns and hull, and give the new one a more warship like appearance.
I agree, keep it a colony ship and just modify it, let TAZ and Phoenix keep there unique ships they worked for.
Please let the Nephilim current model stand and make it a full colony ship (larger cargo, less guns etc) I mean.. It LOOKS like a colony ship..

Or if your determined to use that new model of yours.. make that the new battleship, let TAZ and Phoenix keep there unique ship they have now, and make the current Nephilim model a full colony ship Like a Super Liner, that way you dont wipe out its colony lore (and my RP lol) that's reasonable right?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I oppose Zoner losing cap ships. Yes, yes, I know, then maybe the Sairs and so on will stop harassing. I see it differently. You take the teeth out of the tiger's mouth and it's easier to boot it when you want to without consequence.
In short, you just make it easier to push the Zoner populace around. I mean, what else do people do when they get bored.....cough..cough...Sairs...SCRA......Outcasts....cough
