I'm not against giving anyone a voice. But asking one specific fraction of the community about what we should do with their specific exclusive toys is not a good idea. Otherwise we'd have nothing to take away from that other than "people want a zoner exclusive barge with no hitbox and infinite cruise speed" and other silliness.
When you have a democracy of the few, it's not a democracy.

Dirk, options 2 and 3 of that poll were close enough that we merged them together in the aftermath of the voting. At least, that was my take on it. Transports and liners are much more passive than battleships.
Yes bud, but this aint north korea - and its only black and white because of the attitude that has been imposed. Theres nothing wrong with the ships, or the players who hold them - its the fact that some "unheard" of players decided that it doesn't make sense, and it doesn't make sense because of A.B.C.D.
How would you feel if I had to strip all of your work and then have the nerve to tell you its for the sake of the community, when the community itself is against it. Speaking of democracy, the numbers are against this type of move - hence, it needs to be stopped.
If Devs/Admins are truly fair, this will go to a second vote. Period. Otherwise you have made a clear statement to everyone who plays this server that the same thing may happen to them.

I've had one for almost five years. It's the only battleship I have ever owned. Yeah, I didn't really want to lose it, then I thought about it a bit. I bought it because it looked cool. It's a cool RP ship. I just wasn't RPing very much with that ship. In fact I did almost nothing with it. Yeah, it's a bit of a hit, but in five years I think I've gotten my money's worth. The game will always change. I don't always like the way it does. It goes on though.
You know what the problem with democracy in entertainment is?
Years ago, people wanted the tech chart, so they could know at a glance what loadouts were rules-legal. And it was good.
But then - and this is somehow lost on people nowadays - there were many tears about "skypefriends" and other such nonsense. And so an automated system was desired.
Thus came the technerf system.
But then there were many tears about unnecessary (and in some cases stupid) nerfs.
So what's the problem with democracy in entertainment and the often-resulting design-by-committee?
A lack of cohesive vision combined with the fact that no one actually thinks these things through. End result: Everyone's mad, because most people were listened to yet the result is what none of them wanted, and because they were listened to to begin with they can't get past the fact that they didn't get what they want.

Yeah, where is that thread in marketplace, you wanted to sell that thing.
Anyway, why you cannot leave us alone, let us to play with we really enjoy? Everyone knows with SC realize it would be logical end of Disco, at least with freelancer universe. Why you need to remove what people like? Aim on what people dislike, I'd say. Most important thing in disco now it's server activity. What you are doing it only about reducing the activity.
No, Tel, this isn't North Korea, but we're still being more democratic here than the vast majority of the "democratic" governments of the world.
But without going further into real world comparisons than I want to...
This can be a democracy if the people want to be nice and calm about the results. Or it can be like it's always been where things are changed without any player consultation whatsoever.

I'll tell you something about change, I hate change, but I love progress - I can progress my character anyday, but I won't have the same freedom if the dev team keeps changing the system to which Im supposed to work with ( the ship ) - All good things come to an end, thats what it all comes down to, but.. its not the time, not now.

Seriously, what's the argument here? All I'm seeing is everyone kicking and shouting about devs wanting to reduce Zoner activity. Not sure why the devs would hate a faction. Or want to reduce activity. But I'm just thinking out loud here though.
And I'd just like to point out, you've all seem to have read the ID; How much of the actual Zoner lore have you guys read?
Pardon if I'm being obnoxious or coming off as hateful, I really don't mean to I just want to understand both sides here. Also pardon because intoxicated rambling.
Editing because I don't want to double post:

You can't have progress without change. I promise you that. Progress and change are practically synonyms. Progress is a change in a good direction. Progress is change for the better.
If the system changes, you need to change- or should I say, progress, and adapt. Overcome and show how you plan to progress.
