I'm with Gytrash on this 100% It's wrong to just take away a primary means of defence from zoners. Especially when official faction leaders are against it.
You guys keep your battleships, and indie nomads can now buy marduks.

Literally your only enemy out there are the Nomads. Besides the factions you guys piss off in your own time. Indies can't get battleships, and the K'hara aren't out marduking you all the time, so why are you going M-MUH ONLY DEFENSE?
Because it makes inRP sense, Saronsen. You cannot RP the entire Zoner fleet turning into transports because the Solomon K'Hara haven't been shooting at us. That is comparable to a nation disbanding their military because they haven't been attacked.
//Edit: As for the fact that Zoners way of defence is diplomacy... If you can't fend off an enemy on your own, which is very likely for the Zoners against any enemy, they should utilize their diplomatic skills to find someone defending them.

Oh yes! Because when diplomacy breaks down I'm sure battleships won't be needed!
Reminds me of "League of Nations" When they didn't have the military power to back them, they fell.
A big reason why the United Nations is doing well, because they learned from the League of Nations and have military might behind them. They also use diplomacy. But if that fails - you know.

First off, Zoners shouldn't have had fleets to begin with.
Second, they cant sustain fleets with the population or resources they have.
Thirdly, you're right, you can't RP that. You can retcon it though.

And you think you could defeat the Nomads, or any other enemy of larger scale for that reason, exactly how?
