See the post, the words in it are damn true. And the thread maybe pointless at that time, but it is worth a look back now, given the amount of people leaving the server. You can take it that as RL,since most say so.But as far as I have seen, and even contacted a one or two through Skype, they are still playing online games, but not Disco.Ever wondered what was the reason they gave?
They all gave nearly same reasons like "the fun quotient in the game has drastically reduced and it is now more of a corporate like game, with many rules and restrictions.I prefer light hearted games, ones that entertain me when I feel a bit let down, when I feel lonely. And this is no more of that game"
Before people start flamin ad raging over meh, just think of it in the perspective, normal view. All want fun, hence the game.More the restrictions and rules(they need to be there, but not very much restriciting and harsh),the less the attraction it offers.Simple as that.
Kudos to Wizard for that post.I have seen him post in that other Zoner thread too.He just demanded what will his all years of RP be regarded as.Same answer and hate from people. Now that makes people feel bad.Sick it is.

Can't lock the thread though. Why? I definitely should be allowed to. Lets make a poll.
All these Zoner threads are nothing but pointless child Q.Q. God forbid the new people coming to this website in the past few days, and just seeing BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW splashed over the forums.
This has to stop. The Dev judgment is one backed by the people who have also been affected by Zoner cap users. I myself would like to see Zoner caps be SRP'd, however I am find with Jinx's solution.
And over the past few days there's been some notable quotes, I think this may be one of the best so far:

(02-25-2014, 04:27 PM)Highland Laddie Wrote: NOT a group that was meant to build and maintain a large cap fleet.
Keep in mind that most of the caps were caused by indies unaffiliated with official factions just trying to have some fun. It's like Liberty may be wealthy, but if you count all the LNS caps in existence then it's still way more than they are in-rply "supposed" to have and maintain.
I think this is one of the parts of the games where you have to relax on your "logic" and allow people with existing RP to continue their RP (if they want to), as well as allow people who want to have zoner caps to have one, as long as they abide by the server rules.
edit: also, I prefer SRP caps over turning them into transports. A battletrans (which has to be balanced) no matter how powerful is still a big fat paper target to any half-functional military ship. You want to talk about RP and logic, no sane person would build a bs sized transport and used it in areas where it will easily be destroyed by virtually everybody, even if they supposedly have allies nearby.
...?
The Liberty Navy has the second largest fleet in all of Sirius, only behind OP Dev Armor Gallia.
And no, not all Transports are weak. You don't know the stats for these transports yet. Don't assume what you don't know.

Wow, Wizard pretty much summed it up. Many kudos. And yes, I could add a few factions to his list off the top of my head..
Why is it that ONLY changing the Zoner BS now makes the server no longer fun? Did droves of people leave the game when they got rid of the Battlestar, or the Necrosis?
How about did all of Bretonia leave when devs decided to have Kusari AND Gallia both beat the crap out of them?
You're gonna find the fun in whichever way you can. If the only way you can have fun on this server is flying your Nephilim and Aquillon unmolested around the cosmos...you're probably not adding that much to the server.
Maybe if Zoners are so unattractive to play now without their big cap fleet, we'll see more factions like Kusari, Blood Dragons, Corsairs, Gallia get some love and have more fun elsewhere in the game, eh? They all have caps too, ya know.
I came into this thread with an open mind. Then I saw this.

- a vast Sirius-Wide collective
- technologically advanced
- well trained soldiers, as every life is sacred and every loss hurts
- capital class warships usually operate close to freeports and our homeworld
- construction on one shipyard is usually a join effort between those organizations within the Zoners that can afford such an endeavour
- got a good share of actual "allies" and "confidants" to work with, people that're actually able to provide technological research and support, as well as soldiers. They also control their very own part of space.
- are on a sirius-wide ideal that was ruled over decades under the idea of the free man, but it always was -one united collective- despite all its internal differences.
And I lol'd.
This sort of grasping at straws type wishful thinking is precisely why Zoner RP is broken.
Perhaps if this sort of attempt at changing a faction happened to quite literally ANY other faction that isn't entirely about living in rugged individualistic lifestyles on the edges of Sirius EXACTLY for the sake of living in rugged individualistic lifestyles on the edges of Sirius, things might have been a little different.
Zoners having open access to battleships is not the same as Outcasts having battleships.
It's the same as the Corsairs hauling cardamine while enforcing house law - it's simply completely and utterly divergent and contrary to the core of the faction RP.
That being said, Gyrtrash has some good points.
I think that the official factions should be consulted and be a party in faction lore and "balance" discussions - in a very substantial position.
The admins and devs are DMs, and exist to allow the stories made by the players to manifest into substance in a manner that they believe to be conducive to fun - not to railroad their players into something with no input from the players. Players, in turn, are obligated to stick to their RP in a way that suits the story and to logical progression.
I'm not entirely sure why people are insisting on claiming that the removal of battleships will significantly alter Zoner ability to defend themselves. Battleships have been nerfed to being little more than jumpships and base siegemachines. Battleships aren't even the best counter against other battleships, and serve only to be a symbol of military power - something that the Zoners shouldn't be touting.
If anything, anything even resembling a zoner "military" should be something close to what the GMG has.

Just trying to fit in with all the generalization and assumptions going on here. I have little faith that the devs will go "balls-out" and allow these caps to keep their bs shields while still being able to mount capital ship's defensive turrets/ secondaries.

Apples and oranges. Battlestar, or the Necrosis is just one ship. And I think one or both of them are unique and not widespread-ly available ships.
Bretonia (BAF/BPA etc) are military factions mostly, and military factions like war because war=activity=pew. And bretonia, unlike the borderworlds, is an okay place for trading.
Aside from established RP which they'd like to continue, zoners like their zoner caps precisely due to their unique appeal of being able to be in a cap and all over the universe, without getting shot at by everyone else nor breaking server rules, among other things.
highland, you prolly don't remember having to mash the mouse button trying to get connected to the server for '85.
now, with gallia being the 'cool place with all the high-end prices', cruise drain (that just plain raeps a trader, cos the bombers sit still), and a host of other countless, minor nails, the box is broken. My familia have left already. The devs are -still- trying to prove that they can design a game better than Chris roberts. Wow is free to play until lvl 50 i think, minecraft, world of tanks, and a host of other games that haven't been modded by the cumbersome and crude method of FLhook plugins that cause horrendous lag-loss unless they are connected to a freaking huge single core server (but no-one uses these ancient pos anymore, so good luck with finding one)... a server population of 20 is risible - like 9% of previous levels.
Igiss, come back. the magician's apprentice has bewitched the mop and bucket, and it's starting to go all a bit pear shaped.

Atleast, one player can see it from the general game/activity/fun/RL point of view that I have been raged over/complained for whining and imagination/disregarded as a newbie and so on,for speaking my mind out all this time.Forgive the lore/RP/whatever that is Disco for a moment.Think it as just another game, one which is fun to play. And you cant decide what roles the people here want to take. Its dictatorship then. Its their will to choose a role and defend it from the anarchy of the community, that is so.
Kudos to ya coin, for seeing the most basic thing that makes everyone play a game.No more QQ from my side.My point has been proven. Now,rage all you want.I dont care.Let this change come through,I wont argue.I will sell my Zoner ships to NPC bases and move on to any other faction, for the love of the game.I take a bow.
