I do not like this. From reasons stated... for example, I want to RP being a pirate who hates Liberty, because of reasons. I see a lone Liberty Navy fighter. Engagibugn, Liberty! Now, it can take up to 10 minutes untill someone can notice it and bring help. If I am good with a mini-razor, which I am not, but Tachyon is an example of someone who can kill a fighter under a minute, if he is a little lucky.
With this command, it would take much less time to get there. Pirating would be nigh impossible with this, because if there was a neutral base there, then sudenly a bunch of escort craft would get there and destroy everything in sight...
If you want an example of this, Renee.Thorpe was trying to assassinate Laura.Huntington. We nearly did not get there in time from Tau-23 to help. With this command, we could have teleported to New Tokyo, where they were, and help right away.
To sum up, this is a bad idea and it is a NO from me. If you want to play in Taus and Omegas, get a ship in Taus and Omegas. Money is only a problem if you are a new player, but let's face it. Everyone who is active for at least 3 months has enough to buy ships everywhere he wants to.

This would significantly increase the ability of traders to do one way trade routes.
Take cargo from base A to B then tele back to A. And repeat.
Right, but could be unprofitable... due to a price that must be paid for 'teleport-jump'. Anyway... there are others issues: how about bounties? Hunting will be a piece of cake. Sure, could be also unprofitable. But this doesn't mean that the "new-wonder-server-command" will not be abused.

@ "too much interaction"
Well, interaction is the point of this game, isn't it?...
Except few cases, piracy and bounty hunting is dead. Neither I think traders need to be afraid of mythical "griefers" nor I think that command would hurt them that badly, given their escorts, police and navy forces would use it as well.
@ "abuse abuse abuse"
Is Freelancer Account Manager abuse as well then? It allows people to have unlimited number of ships, docked everywhere. It's a tool straight from griefer's wet dream...
@ "then why don't you make many ships in various regions as all vets do? Why is that command needed ?"
People would quickly move to activity areas without spending good portion of their time online looking for activity in empty systems. Bases such as King's Cross, Goldern Coin, Falster, Itabashi, Krupp, New Haven etc caused considerable amount of QQ. People wanted to join fight/RP/convoy/whatever the quickest they can, but Tradelanes and Jumpgates were guarded by hostile bases with weapon platforms. Using largely uncovered by POBs jumphole network is an option, but it takes more time, and that makes people mad.
Not all of us are rich enough to make ships from various local factions everywhere. Also, people don't want to lose their time on cruising through our oversized Sirius with more systems than players this community has. They want to get to others the fastest they can and join activity, before the fun is over. That's why Conn is so popular - you can find there pew in less than 5 seconds thanks to beam command. You don't have to cruise through 300k+ of open space (Omicrons), you don't have to cruise through 100k+ to next jumphole in house space as a pirate, you just enter the command and you find yourself moved immediately to activity hub.
@ "then remove empty systems and resize the important ones, lol"
Removing systems with bases is quite difficult as I hear, and even if we removed and scaled down many systems, available universe will still be simply too big.
I understand concerns about abuse, but I don't think they're valid, unless we consider FAM abuse too.

I was actually more worried about server lag when dozens of caps join the pews. The command would likely allow more caps to participate. Caps are so expensive that one will hardly have one in every 3rd system (while this is easy for snubs). And we know what massive cap battles do to the server at the moment.
Simple workaround for the highlighted issues really.
Have some desiginated beam spots for each faction. I'll take the example of the GRN since that's the one I am most familiar with.
Since our main activity hotspots are Leeds/Tau-23 you could put in two faction specific warps to, say...Planet Leeds in Leeds and Battleship Guillestre in Tau-23. Additionally, a warp point to IDF should any action happen in-house. Have it cost a couple of million per jump...don't let it happen with cargo...and let it have a cooldown. Half an hour/One hour seems fine to me.
That should be able to ensure that larger interactions can take place but reduce the chance of griefing by warping everywhere at least somewhat.
That will increase the workload on people who have to implement this, but this is how I see it working. Just decide what the various major faction hotspots are, and give them warp points specifically to there.
I suppouse it's possible to restrict cruisers and above from using it, if it proves to be problematic for the server.
@ Rod
Being allowed to move only to certain areas would only consolidate their status as activity hubs, while other regions stay dead. That's why imo it should work with all neutral-dockable and allied bases; if people want pew in Magellan, they jump straight to Magellan. If someone organises convoy he jumps straight to RV point and goes on with activity right away.
