Good day ladies/gentlemen,
Excuse the unannounced message to yourselves and please forgive me for being quite forward in this matter.
Firstly let me make a simple request upon you then I will expand a little upon our Command Councils ponderings over some 'problems' we and others have been having in Cortez.
Our request is quite benign, our pilots are often passing Curacao and wondering over the beauty of that planet. Having spent the largest part of their lives in space some of them have been requesting shore leave, now Pecos is all well and good, for those with winter sports in mind, but for those who prefer the feeling of real sun, and the ability to gain a suntan are asking for permission for shore leave on Curacao.
We were hoping that you may grant our vessels some mooring berths and maybe the use of one of your resorts to let the boys & girls of GBS 'let their hair down' and partake in some S,S & S. on Curacao.
We hope that you will see fit to grant our hard working pilots the chance to sample the renowned hospitality of Curacao.
This brings me to my second point, that of the current level of security within Cortez; to wit the ever growing pirate menace. We ourselves have lost many cargo loads, uninsured unfortunately, while being carried by our Freight Sub Contractors. We also see daily acts of piracy and lane hacking to which we would wish to respond but feel unable to do so due to our lack of authorisation to do so.
Currently our Coronado Home Fleet is mounting anti outlaw operations within Coronado up to but not beyond the Cortez/Coronado Jump Hole. This allows those vessels that are able to slip through the hole and escape scot free.
So as you can see my suggestion is two fold, that we would exchange your hospitality for our services, in helping to clear up the mess that is happening within Cortez; due to the lack of resources / interest shown by parties who should be doing more to secure this vital trade route between two of the largest houses in Sirius.
We have also noted from time to time the presence of Gallic vessels in Cortez, once again we felt unable to take any action as it is well beyond our current remit at this time.
I hope this message is not deemed to be impertinent, we are really looking after our own interests as well, as our contractors do export an awful lot of Tea from Curacao.
Hoping this finds you all well rested and in good health.
Kindest regards,
Colonel Andrel Cassidiac
CO Golden Blades Squadron
