Uhh... I don't see any docking clamps on there? If you don't... then it kind of doesn't matter if you can get things there or not :t
Personally I use MechJeb for things like calculating lift capacity for rockets and setting up rendezvous nodes, since I've had little luck in eyeballing it in the past. That's the main reason I got it in the first place
Other than that, your design kind of looks like my old KSS-1 model, at-least the core module. You'll generally want to add some docking ports on and use some manner of asparagus staging to get the thing into orbit.
I personally have several sets of 20, 30, and 50 ton boosters saved as subassemblys ready to go.

If you can lock yourself in orbit around Kerbin, the best way to get to the Mun is to wait for it to appear over the horizon of Kerbin, and then burn pro-grade until you have an encounter
Now, if you're having troubles slowing down once you're in the SOI (sphere of influence) of the Mun, make sure to trim your periapsis to as low to the planet as you can get it, without actually hitting the Mun (highest points of the mun reach about 9k into space, so aim for about a 10k peri for max efficiency)
Furthermore, if you're having more troubles with learning how to fly in KSP, I advise you check out Scott Manly's video Tutorials on flying in KSP. Scott's videos, combined with some help from my brother, are how I know how to play.
