From my own capital ship experience, each player has their own way of killing things. I would typically class them as a "Support Player", a "Full Assault Player" or "Balanced Player". Now, a Support player would typically support a group of Capital ships or fighters from long rang. Call it long range bombardment. A Full assault player is your typical Cap player who get into two types of fighting. Turret steering or strafing. Usually these guys are built for direct assault and are designed to Solo take on other caps, where as a support ship won't be able to solo another cap on it's own. Now, a Balanced player with have arsenal to provide a strong one on one fight and can somewhat provide good support to other ships. These guys are the best of both worlds and do not succeed amazingly in ether. Each ship will have their own effective play, but some are limited. IE the Ossie can't be a Balanced ship because of its lack of weapons where as a Rheinland Battleship will do better. These are some load outs i would recommend for each class.

Support

Half Mortars (NO HEAVY MORTARS)
Half Missiles
2 Battleship Pulses firing FORWARDS
Full set of Solaris (For fighter cover)
4 Flaks that can fire in all Directions

Full assault

Full Cerbs
Full prims
Full secondaries
2 Flaks that can fire in all Directions

Balanced

Half Cerbs (Min of Two)
Half Mortars OR Missiles (Or one of each if you have 4 Heavy Slots)
Full prims
4 Flaks that can fire in all Directions


Weapon wise, for each group. Use the factions OWN primaries, flaks and secondaries, if they have them. DO NOT use the Heavy Mortar as it is less efficient then the normal Mortar. You can fire 3 mortars in the time you fire on normal mortar. You have more chance of hitting, you use less energy and you've got a greater DPS (Damage per second). If you're using ONE missile, use the faction own missile (IE Liberty Missile, not the basic) and if you are using Two or more, use the Basic missiles. It saves on Core
