Right back at you. You seem to assume that the balance is skewed in the pirates favour, it seems you have a small amount of experience in the more recent versions of the mod.
First and foremost i'd like to address the issue with systems that do not contain trade lanes of which has been talked about quite a few times above me and especially the Zoner ships,well..Zoners caps are turned into transports,transports that worth +550mil fully equipped they'll most likely deserve to be the only ones who won't have the same speed as a barge and fulfill their purpose which is to effectively fly outside house space where's there's no lanes
Secondly due to the fact that only +4,3k transports will receive these 'adjustments' i believe it should be balanced by increasing their cargo value to 10,000 so that their profit won't be the same or below of those who still fly at 'normal speed' who can avoid pirates either via speed or massive firepower[ .87 (rock) ]
Speaking of base supplying..those 2-3 members of which supply Seasons Base of which is located in middle of nowhere and have spoken their mind against these change,well..your ID does not allow you to fly 5k[or new 10k] anyways so you wont be affected in any way by this change[unless you were using non VR ID-ed transports]
^ this kind of situation with other POB owners who don't have their bases near the trade lanes they have no reason to worry about since the 3,5k-4,3k can fulfill that job pretty well while no tears will be wasted

With all do respect, to all members, I'd like to note, that bigger ship, means greater protection. Corporations would like to be ensured, that their ships, and money, are safe. It's just kinda strange, when SINGLE bomber, can wipe out huge transport, which carry, around 5-10 people, and lots of goods. Same as 1 dessy can wipe out a battleship............. it's just wrong way.
Nerfing transport can make another + for a balance, but, it will have it's impact to community, and Im mostly sure, that part of players, will be very disappointed with that decision.
