Hello.

Yesterday my computer crashed while running Freelancer, and I cannot make screenshots since then. I could not find a button mapping for it in the Options of the game itself, and resetting the buttons to default does not help either. Is there a way to manually re-map it by editing a file or something?

To be precise, all my button settings got mixed up, but I managed to fix the others.

Documents\My Games\Freelancer

UserKeyMap.ini

[KeyCmd]
nickname = USER_SCREEN_SHOT
key = 116

This makes F5 your screen shot button. Change it with other value to suit your needs.

Thanks.

Where can I find info about which number is associated to a specific button?

Virtual keycodes.

Highly recommend not binding print screen to the same key as your thruster.

The lag would be hilariously atrocious.

Retired, permanently.

Much kudos for this.

You can also download Fraps and/or use the Prt Sc (Print Screen) button to take them but using the Print Screen button is long winded and requires you to paste it onto something like pain, then save it where as fraps saves it into an image file for you.

Ok, thank you all.

I managed to remap it to my Print Screen button, and it works now. The key binding was attributed to a code not even present in the list Kazinsal linked.

Snoopyman, Freelancer saves screenshots in BMP to the Users\<username>\Pictures\Freelancershots directory.

Problem solved, thread can be closed.

I Know, but they were just alternatives if you couldn't get the problem fixed.
