Wow snakthree, what logic is behind your mythic words? Enlighten the community. So on the infocard it says "CAU 8 increases the amount of hull to 4.0" but you they aren't increasing the armor but rather decreasing the incomming damage.
Capital Ship Armor Upgrade Mk VIII
Multiplies base armor by 4.0; occupies 300 cargo space.

You're suck at this... Armour upgrade incrase the armour,
Example
RM BS have 1.400.000 hull points.
Equip CAU8 (4.0) Armour then it will multiples your armour
1.400.000x4=5.600.000

You are both horribly wrong. Better get your facts straight before insulting people.
Armor upgrades do, in fact, reduce incoming damage by a given factor. Regardless of what the infocard says. This is also the reason why you don't need more nanobots to repair your hull even when the armor is "multiplied".

Wat, dude there was no insult but rather pointing a fact. I'm sorry if he feels insulted, cause that was not my intention. Anyhow dude in fact it uses more Nanobots and Shield batts with more armor, try Starflier. Without armor you can regen like over 6 times with armor only 4 - 5.
Actually, on other mod (NSU) there is both armor increasing items AND damage decreasing items. And both them have same effect on that plugin, everything works fine.
Yes, with all these problems I still would like seeing the remaining base armor and shield in numbers, it gives me much more clarity than a simple bar. +1
As for the hp, it could be displayed (if possible) as
[Remaining Base Value] [Armor multiplier]
So a CAU8 turtle will have the stats
1400000 x4.0
No atmosphere? GTFO.
The propeller is the greatest invention of all time.

Check this picture, Normally all NPC Capital ships have 1.7 armour and corsair dreadnought have 1.000.000 hull
1.000.000x1.7= 1.700.000 -----Click-----
equip = armor_scale_6 = Armour Upgrade II -----Click----- -----Click-----

Starflier is irrelevant as it has far too low amount of armor. A battleship, armored or armorless, will regen the exact same portion of its health bar when it uses all its nanobots. You can try it anytime.

You are wrong.
--- This is numeric mod I tried on singleplayer.
What you posted shows that NPCs use armor upgrades and that there is a number controlling how efficient is the armor upgrade. It doesn't prove anything wrong.
That said, it doesn't matter much whether the armor multiplies the hull or reduces the damage taken as the effect is exactly the same. In both cases the hypothetical "hull meter" will have to take the armor upgrade in account.
I'm still against adding the "hull meter" for reasons mentioned in some earlier post.
In fact, the mere existence of hull bars for hostile ships is immersion-breaking but I don't think anyone would remove them.

Yea, quite. Obviously future scanners don't have the ability to summarize the condition of a ship's health condition in numbers.
