NO, you cannot. Most, if not all corporate IDs clearly specify that you cannot engage in unlawful activity, usually with a few exceptions (ex. Gateway is specifically allowed to pirate Bowex ships outside of House space, and Gallic ships anywhere. Kruger/IMG/BMM are usually allowed to pirate one-another to some extent if they are in contested mining areas, etc.)

This is wrong. Most (though not all) corporations have a line that states "Can engage in piracy against corporations affiliated with houses at war with [own house] anywhere".
So yes, you can absolutely pirate Liberty corps anywhere, with an RS/Daumann ID.
Though not with an ALG ID for example, as they are less house-centric.
Just read the ID you have and follow the rules set by it.
Edit: You cannot, however, grab a Bretonian corp ID and pirate in Kusari, as they are no longer at war with each other.

Yes as well as IC, as these 2 companies are kind of globalized.
I did say there were exceptions... I just wanted to make it clear that you.can't just get a corporate ID and pirate anywhere you want.
I guess, in my mind, I have a hard time reasoning why a DHC ship would go to New York just to pirate, given the dangers. A pirate ID would seem more suitable.

IC|'s a Tran-Sirius Corporation, as we work in multiple houses and are not strictly based out of Liberty anymore.
As for pirating under corporate ID's, I absolutely hated being pirated by an indy RS in Kusari -_-;
Not only that, attacking with a corporate ID would mean you engage under the pretext of being their enemy by association, and could not make any demands for cargo or credits.
If you want to pirate, use the Pirate ID <.<
Corporate piracy / privateering is an awesome thing, that isn't used as much as it should be.

It makes perfect sense for nationalistic individuals of corporations to engage in privateering against corporations affiliated with enemy houses. Why shouldn't you be able to make demands of cargo or credits? That's part of war inrp, and perhaps more importantly, an interesting occupation for corporations that are very limited when it comes to combat anyway.

I'm saying it isn't allowed in terms of the ID, as it gives you the option to engage the other player who's of a House organization that your House is at war with,, but does not note that you can demand credits or cargo during the RP, just allows attacking from my understanding of it.
Not trying to say privateering is a bad thing, but my experiences being "pirated" by corp factions have not been any good engagements RP-wise :p If the player's main focus is pirating, that is why I suggested the Pirate ID since it allows for demanding cargo and credits within the ID rules.
