- Planet Gran Canaria was discovered in 769 A.S. by Zoners expodition. That was their new hope for a peaceful live. Now it's a planet of social outcasts and wanderers from all over Sirius. Half of planet settled by Zoners, another half - by Corsairs. The relationship between the Zoners and Corsairs on the planet is largely cordial, but both groups are still wary of each other, mirroring the wider diplomatic situation between the two powers.
I think the Coalition must set on this planet Outpost for observation. This will increase the range of SCRA. Chase Zoners from this planet is no need - the Coalition does not need new enemies, right?
Julia halted reading for a minute, talking to an appkicant.
Yes and no. The Coalition would indeed want to increase our influence over Gran Canaria. We definitly not going to kick all Zoners from there either. Some we might if needed. We would turn those who we can into Coalition citizens, to establish firstly protectorate over whole system and then claim it ours. With help of Red Hessians and Mollys we could get this planet to be our main trading artery between eachother and a fortress to assault against Corsairs. Big plans really, but possible if we have smart and capable leadership. Julia looked at Gregoriy again and left papers alone. Would you become a good officer, leading and commanding a wing or pilots or maybe a small army, or you consider yourself just a front infantry man?
Dorian had her hands under the table. It was hard to understand if she held something there or not.
- First, I plan to be a simple soldier, and then what will happen. I think I will be not bad wing commander, but first I need to go under someone's command, in order to gain experience.
Okay, lets imagine a situation. You have been sent on a mission and during it have been caught by evil capitalists. You have been captured, brought to prison and tourtured. You hold a valid information about Coalition that will be used against it if fells into the wrong hand. What price you will call to betray your motherland? Would it be joining capitalists army at higher rank? Money? Freedom? Julia came even closer, looking in the eyes of Gregoriy. Or maybe you going to start lie to me about how strong, patriotic, fearless and not a dirty spy to betray us?
Impresion of Julia's face was terrifying, she nearly havent blinked, looking at Gregoriy's face.
- Of course I can join to the army of capitalists, but I will drain all information to SCRA. All possible access codes, secret laboratory and developments... Eventually, I tired to live in a world of corruption, ruled by bandits. I want to live in a perfect world.
Dual spy work? Hell, Id go for that as well. Risky and dangerous, but how much you worth if you afraid to try? Julia raised her hands and gave the papers she were holding to Gregoriy. Take them. Fill them up and hand over to secretar in the lobby. She will tell you what to do after.
Julia saw Gregoriy outside of the office and returned to the work. She were happy to see brave applicants with enough brains to understand what they are doing and why.
A well built man walks into the recruitment office, placing the form on the table, then taking a seat.
Quote:Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army Recruitment Form Name: Ivan Tur Age: 28 Height: 178 centimeters tall Weight: 83 kilograms
Previous Occupation(s): Prison Guard, Zvezdny Security Guard. Short Biography: Coaliton born and bred I, Ivan, was trained in self defense at a young age, mainly from my father who taught others with a violent passion. My mother was a calm woman, who enjoyed the smaller gifts of life. She recently passed away and became a motivation to join the army. I took a basic education, then proceeded to take on tertiary courses related to mechanics and languages. After I finished said courses at 23 years of age, I went on to take up small jobs, such as teaching others self defense, prison cell guarding and eventually settling into a Security Guard job on Zvezdny Gorodok at 26. And here I am today, writing this form, applying for a another job.
Reasons for joining the Army: My mother is my primary reason here. It may sound weak, but she was quite a fragile person. By taking up a job in the Army, it'd be my way of defending her while defending the Coalition's assets and home. It's also an adventure. I'd get out from the prison stations, docking bays and boring late night shifts.
Nick walks into the room and sees Ivan sitting in the chair. He takes the paper crumples it up and tosses it in the trash bin.
"You, come with me." Nick walks him into a small room at the end of a hallway.
He closes the door gently and takes a seat behind an aged looking wooden desk leaving Ivan standing at the door.
"Please,"he motions with his hand"take a seat."
He speaks calmly
"I never was one for reading papers, I always felt the best passage of judgement was done by hearing a man's voice. So, I want to know. Why do you want to join the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army? Simple question I think. I mean that is the reason you are here, right?"
Ivan walks past the trashbin, eyeing off the paper in there.
He takes a seat as gestured, staring around the room in awe. This was the make or break point. The table was obviously old and had probably seen a few dead people on it too.
"Uh, hello, I guess." Ivan says, trying to be polite. "I want to join the Army to, well... to put my mother's soul to rest, I guess. It's a metaphor. She was a fragile person, always afraid of war and being invaded. She recently passed away and I believe if I defend the home she once feared to loose, it'd be a way of appeasing her. Metaphorical, I know."
Ivan takes a breath, driving his hands into his pockets.
Nick slides open a drawer and pulls out a ring with a Libertonian Military insignia and "Class of 100" on it he places it carefully on the table then pulls out a Rheinlandic family pendant as well as a old looking Kusarian blade that still held its razor sharp edge, then lastly he pulls out a Bretonian ring with the symbol of The Armed Forces on it made out of solid gold.
"Do you see all of these? Do you know what they all have in common? I want you to look me in the eye and tell me what these things have in common."
