Isabel Ramos. This young, beautiful and intelligent girl had it tough ever since she was born. Before she was even born, her parents, Lucas and Allison Ramos, were sitting in very tough times. They only owned a small Dromedary Freighter and enough personnel items to keep them living and moving for a couple of days at a time. They would do everything in this little freighter. They'd live and eat in it.
They would take it everywhere they travelled. It was their home. They would try to make a living by transporting Cardamine to and from Outcast installations to keep the Outcast stations topped up and happy. As the years went on, larger groups would start to transport Cardamine to and from bases. Due to the fact that they were larger companies, they could use larger transports and intern drop the price of their Cardamine. The Ramos family could not compete with these new companies and decided to risk everything they had; They had to sell the beloved Dromedary. Takers came quickly but this put the family in jeopardy. They had no home nor did they have any food. With no home and very little money, the couple had to travel down to Planet Malta to see what work they could acquire.
After countless days of searching and having almost no food, they found a Cardamine Ranch for sale. It was nothing much, 2 acres large and there was a small lake beside the farm. The Ranch itself was small, it barely had enough room for two people, but still they brought the Ranch in a desperate attempt to make some money to live on.
The years mercifully dragged on and money crept in at a snails pace. They had just enough to live on, selling the Cardamine they managed to grow. Every so often the crops would fail and life would become much worse for the pair. Somehow they made it though and one day, they decided to have a child to make their lives easier on the farm. They hoped that one day the child could help provide for the family.
9 months passed and Allison was rushed into hospital. The hospital was nothing you'd expect from a hospital on Planet Manhattan. There were no experts on standby, no cleaners to clean the place. It was a filthy, run down and it looked like an abandoned 3 story high block of flats. This was all the Ramos family could afford.
After several days of laying in a filthy bed and being filled with a tremendous amount of pain, a small little girl was born into the universe. The new, happy parents decided to name their new child, Isabel.
Isabel was brought back to the small Cardamine Ranch where she was raised from the little girl she was. The ranch was nothing special. Inside, it was run down and horrible. There we two rooms in the Ranch and an Outhouse out the back in the garden. Both of these rooms inside were not adequate for raising offspring. One room was used to store all the required materials for growing and enhancing Cardamine and the other room was used for everything else. There was a small kitchen with 2 small beds and a fire place. This was no place to raise a child.
5 years of struggling and living on the boundaries of starvation, Isabels dad, Lucas, was offered a small job in transporting Cardamine again. He had no choice but to accept it because the Ramos family were far to low on money. With the acceptance of Lucas's new job, the family started brining in enough money to live a stable life. Enough money was put aside for the family to go out and have small bit of fun with the locals in the near by town. Their food quality improved and so did their life's.
After several more years of Cardamine running, the Ramos family were doing quite well. They had enough money to live on with some left over. One day, Lucas was offered a new job. A slightly larger company recruited him into their buissness to smuggle Cardamine into Planet Manhatten. Knowing the risks, Lucas took the job. He would be on a higher wage which was the most important thing for his family. He had high hopes that with the new money he was earning he and his family guy buy a new, larger house that was more practical.
His hopes and dreams came true when one day, 3 years after his new Job, they expanded to a larger more comfortable home. Their mew home was almost twice the size of their last one and had much more land, almost 3 times as much. They had enough room to grow plenty of Cardamine which they could ship out to reduce the costs of buying it from the company. This was the best choice made so far by Ramos Family.
The next few years flew past without a hitch. Lucas was still working for the same company, Allision was still caring for Isabel and Isabel was now in her early teens. Money was coming in from the left, right and center and the Ramos family were finally comfortable with where they were. They were now finally happy after all the years of struggling.
With the extra cash they were bringing in, they had enough left over to buy Isabel her first space ship. They had been slowly saving this for the past 8 years. Isabel was slowly taught, by her mother, to fly the new space ship. She grasped the controls very quickly and was on her way to learning how to fly at an early age.
2 years passed by and Isabel was now fully capable of flying small ships. She had grasped all of the basics and was now flying on her own. She would start to accompany her her father on Cardamine trips down to Planet Manhatten, selling Cardamine to the masses.
Many more years passed. Many more runs with her father running as escort happened until one frightful day where they were strolling though Liberty. Somebody had tipped the Navy of on a popular route that smugglers, such as Isabel and Lucas , took. This was a route that Isabel and Lucas were contemplating not to take but they were running short on time and as it was the quickest route they have, they took it. This time, Lucas would be flying the transport and Isabel would be flying her fighter snub craft as an escort.
A check point was set up down the route that they were taking. Everywhere within a 30k radius was cordoned of and a no fly zone was set in place. Unaware of this the Ramos' flew straight though this no fly zone. All of a sudden, Navy vessels converged on the Ramos' and started to engage them. Explosions were going of everywhere in the freighter. Lucas was thrown violently to the sides knocking him unconscious.
A long fight went on and Isabel did her best trying to defend her father from the Navy patrols but it was to no avail. A single Avenger lined up on the transport and fired a small torpedo. The torpedo struck the ships core and caused the core to overload and explode, taking Lucas with the ship. At this very moment, Isabel turned and saw the transport explode. Her heart dropped and she gave up with everything. Seeing her father die was the worst thing that could ever happen to her. The Navy patrols switched targets and started to target Isabel. She made no attempt to avoid the gunfire. Lasers hit and her ship started to spark. Eventually, warning were displaying all around her adding to her confusion.
The patrols took one last pass and destroyed Isabel's ship. The automatic ejection system kicked in and ejected her from her ship. She was scared and exhausted. She looked up and saw a patrol ship heading straight towards her. She felt her ship move, she was being tractored in.
Suddenly, everything stopped. Everything was quite. Not a ship was seen. All of a sudden, she saw the very ship that was trying to tractor her in float past her with a giant hole in it. She rubbed her eyes and looked out of the window. As she removed her hands from her eyes, she saw vessels fighting the navy patrols. Quickly, one by one the Navy vessels feel until they were all defeated.
This was where she met her soon to be life long friend and carer, Mario Olmus of the Crimson Cross. He saved her that day and she'd be thankful and in debt to him for the rest of her life.
She was Injured, tired and seriously confused. Her escape pod was tractored into Mario's vessel whilst the remaining vessels scoured the the vicinity making sure that there were no more hostile entities left. Isabel was extremely scared expecting the navy or police to appear any minute now, but instead she saw a man with a mask on similar to what the Outcasts wear. His arms reached out to try and open the pod. Isabels heart rate slowly decreased as she finally realized that it was indeed an Outcast that had come to rescue here. A deep gaze was shared between the two shortly before Mario walked back to the cockpit not saying a word at all. As he started walking back, Isabel's vision stared to blur as she slowly fainted.
She awoke much later on as the Outcast wing was returning to Omicron Alpha. Peering out the window she saw the big Planet for her own eyes. She'd never thought that she'd see Planet Malta ever again. She was overwhelmed with excitement and joy.
The ship docked with one of the mooring ports on Valetta Shipyard and Isabel was rushed to the medical bay where she'd spend the next half a year of her life recovering.
To this day she has trained and fought by the side of the Crimson Cross under the watchful eye of Mario Olmus.Isabel and Mario became close friends over the course of the the short life she has experienced. She has many more years ahead of her that will bless her with opportunities of good fortune and news that will devastate her.
