I was supposed to change, but it was not changed yet (there were some issues).
As I said in the original Thread about the changes, the maintenance part was an incorrect feature. The statement went along the lines (I haven't found the original thread so i am doing this from memory) that the damage taken, over a certain period, was reduced from say 300 every 20 seconds to 100 every 20 seconds.
But seeing as the Base repairs itself every 20 seconds, and it uses 2 Reinforced Alloy to do this (this repairs 60,000 damage) then reducing the damage has no effect on the Repair Materials used every 24 hours. It will still require the 2 Reinforced Alloy every 20 seconds as this is the minimum consumed.
For ease, a Base consumes every 24 hours:
8,640 Reinforced Alloy (or Robotic Hardware then Hull Segments if out of the former)
Each of the Crew 'consume' 2.4 Food, Oxygen and Water in the same time period. This equates to a usage by 200/400/600/800 Crew, every 24 hours, as 480/960/1440/1920 FOW.

Well, sounds bad. Bases consum still the same amount but are 4x easier to destroy. The only good thing is, that everything is easier to build. So, it's fine however then. 8600 alloy each 24 hours isn't much.

The shop window can have multiple pages. Type /shop 2 /shop 3 /shop 4 ...etc to access them. If you don't see a commodity in the /shop list, it might be on the 2nd or subsequent pages.

You can do that. If you have 0 RA in the base, it will use the Robotic Hardware for repairs. The only drawback is, you will have one less repair commodity, and your base will be more vulnerable to sieges.
