' Wrote:There is still little reason to name it 'Mameluke'... 'Scimitar' is suitably generic enough to get by, but 'Mameluke' is too Turkish to pass muster for the Hispania's peoples.
'Trident' is good, as is 'Estoc'. I prefer 'Estoc', personally, since it is a sword. (Note: Not a fan of 'Falcata' as a name either...)
Uh, too Turkish? I guess its more Arabic rather than Turkish :)
Yes, yes, I know, I'm being greedy:lol:Yuri did a hell of a lot more work than I did; all I'm really good at is conceptualizing the thing. He can suggest a name if he wants, and I am rather partial to the Dick Smallberries Funboat...
Anyways, Cag is right, it's Arabic in general and not Turkish, and he would know:laugh:but it doesn't matter, because I still don't want to call it the Marmaduke:P
And you know what, SED? Sorry, but...well, I designed this thing, and it's just a cosmetic issue, right? It will shoot the same, whether it gets named Estoc, Cutlass (which isn't half bad), Marmaduke, Spattergroit or the ever-popular Dick Smallberries Funboat. Let me have my little pride-stake.
