Waitwaitwait, are we discussing RP needs or PVP needs? I've stated all the RP reasons why xenos should have a gunboat, or use an IMG one. with that HUGE advantage of carriers, battleships, cruisers, and gunboats, xenos don't stand a chance unless the organize a fleet of bombers to take down an assault cruiser. plus its fighter support. And random freelancers helping. With a gunboat, at least xenos might stand a chance, and would make the game more fair.

It isn't meant to be fair. They aren't meant to have a chance. They're supposed to pick on weak targets and use a little something called 'strategy'. The Xeno Alliance do fine without gunboats, you can too.
In fact, I'd like to see you make a Hacker or Rogue character yourself and attempt to solo a Carrier in a funboat. You will fail, even faster than a solo bomber. To take out big ships like that you need multiple bombers, as it should be.

it could be rare until the put it into mass production for well-trained xenos(us). I don't like going into battle against 1 fighter, and 5 minutes later have half the LSF chase me around the system. Running is the same as dieing here apparently, and it gets very annoying.

Life aint fair son. If you want to be able to steamroll everyone you see with whatever class of ship you want you need to score yourself a BHG ID. Xenos are fighter jocks, and X shuttle jocks. Some of us fly hollowed out rocks with a can of cheese whiz as propellant and sharp sticks as weapons.
Heck, when I was first starting out I just held my breath and gestured rudely at passing freighters while floating through space in the nude.
Also: Never go into New York. Cruise above and below the horizon. Jump holes are your friend. More Xenos are your friend.
Swoop in, burn the place to the ground and run. Don't wait for the calvary to show.

Xenos are fun because they are limited. Take that away from them and they will become just another pwnzorzing gunboat faction (not clan).
Try Rogues, Hackers or Unioners.
Accept the standards, don't change them as soon as you don't like them.
It's proven many times that 2 bombers (well, two average bombers, barghest is useless) can make quite a mess, especially in Liberty.
Phantoms do it, LH do it, even independent guys do it (seen two 'RP brothers' fighting in two bombers near Manhatan, making quite a mess).

Lane hackers also operate in little asteroid bases...They have two (Not including guard system), whereas Xenos have 3 little asteroid bases (soon to be 7 bases total when the Guard system is finished compared to the LH 6)
Why did I post this? Simple....I'm asking why the hell do a faction smaller than the Xenos get a BATTLESHIP and a GUNBOAT? Has noone ever looked at that before? It'd take the entire lane hacker faction to skeleton crew just one Spyglass.
Lanehackers are a bunch of annoyed scientists with no know-how how to construct ships, whereas Xenos are ex-shipyard/dock workers, so would know how..
But yeah, no gunboat for Xenos. SHF/Gunship at the max, but no Gunboat itself. Nor will I condone anything bigger than Xeno Transport for the Xenos, so there.:P

Actually, Lane Hackers are tech (not teh!) geniuses.
They are also pretty rich due to Cardamine business and best pirating in Sirius.
I pointed it out many times, but not for those reasons Zavier.
First of all, Lane Hackers don't need capital ships.
They need one spyglass maybe for RP, since that ship in RP is able to scan like to Mexico and back!
Gunship? I'm not certain, but it's a very light vessel. I think it suits them well.
I disagree with Lane Hacker fleets floating around, yes.
But both of these ships are somehow connected to them, in RP.
And it's not 'their' ship after all :

Not a single one Hacker capital ship should ever be introduced.

It is in one of the rumors on Nome, I think, may have been barrow or even Ouray. If I see it again I'll screenshot it and send it your way.
The only thing the outcasts do for the Lanehackers is send them cardamine. For which the Lanehackers pay information for, so they don't get rich off of Cardamine, they lose money due to it, as the outcasts hit transports that the LH would've hit before they sold the information.
