I've been blocked from posting in the shoutbox, while I was crude and the block was potentially deserved (I still believe that crudity does not fall outside the rules of the forums entirely) I would like to request official notice of exactly what server rule was broken and how long said ban is expected to last.
Edit: This is specifically a request not directed at Garret Jax as when I enquired about this in PMs he threatened me with a full forum ban.
Yes, I guess Gytrash has a right to have an official notice. It should be the right of any player to know what he has done, but also I think it's a bit to early to request this, Garret is probably discussing it currently or doing other stuff. I would say wait a couple of hours (3/6/12/24), if you haven't got any notice by then you can ask for it.
About the ban: I personally think this was not deserved but had to be done to calm down the shoutbox a bit. The heck, you have filled 4 archive sites with your questions/other stuff within no time. That all belongs into a thread not into the shoutbox. Lyth was posting in threads about such stuff (see Knight feedback). We don't need more drama then we have present at all time here. I also don't think that this ban was meant to tell you "Hey gytrash you broke this rule and this rules and this. We ban you now for 24 hours. Thanks. CYA." ((EDIT; probably spam in the shoutbox, am not sure)). I'm sure admins are reviewing the situation in the Shoutbox and the Knight feedback thread to find a conclusion for this
The shoutbox, I would say, is there to greet others, have this social stuff & so on. But we all should not start arguing and discussing in there. There's an archive yes, but the shoutbox is no thread where everything that is in there is only ON-TOPIC, you cannot keep an overview in the shoutbox of important stuff.
tl;dr I guess the ban was only to calm down the people(shoutbox)(especially you, as you've wrote most of us, no offence) and stop spamming the shoutbox full with something that should be in a thread in the general discussion section.
Oh I'm not denying that there was every possibility the ban was justified, it's just at the moment apparently it was for crudity and if it was for that or spam I'd like to know so that I can not do it again.
That's in my mind what the purpose of a sanction notice is
"You did this, this bad, no do this anymore!"
While I don't disagree that an official reason should be given, you aren't going to get quoted a server rule for something said in the shoutbox, because it's not the server, it's the shoutbox & no server rules were broken.
whatever you did, you admit it was potentially deserved, so it's not like you were wronged in any relevant way

Admins usually come up with a formal notice of a shoutbox tempban, as they have done so far in similar cases.
But if the OP has to ask for reasons as to why, then it's clear he doesn't understand his own behaviour.
Yes, and (no offence Marburg, your a cool dude though) it says Server and Forum rules in the rules section, so it's just fine. Plus that what Flash said above the small box. All rules apply in the ShoutBox as well.

Just dont start arguing/discussing something that belongs into a thread in the shoutbox. And don't write more then 4 archive sites at once full, that's kinda - heavy.
Garret informed me that there was a reason for it and I requested that there be a sanction notice, the fact that when I asked for one I was threatened with a full forum ban is concerning to me and I'm still not 100% sure what the actual ban was for as I stopped pretty quickly after that threat and have at present no time period on said ban.
