No, seriously, if something like this is removed someone will want to nerf weaponry. Then we're back at square one.

What I think of the armor upgrades is pointless. Luckily I fly mostly fighters (what? no, me no likey pew-pew? what makes you think... ah... that) and haven't spent a gazillion credits on a juicy mk3 capital armor. But be sure those that have will moan and whine like miss Piggy on Christmas eve if they ever got removed from the game.

No, a better way is to buff the good ol' pew-pew-pew's. And then add mk1337 capital armor for those that really fear that dreaded unvoluntary pause from their pew-pew-pew. Then nerf or remove just that armor.

well it's enough to remember 4.84 and vanilla ships.

partly it was exciting and fun, partly it could be real pain to fight when people adopted special anti-vanilla tactics and loadouts. (lfs with 2 debs, 2 missiles, cd+nuke / old greyhound with mini razor and 4 missiles/ red catamaran with sunslayer, 3 debs and 2 missiles etc.)

If armour upgrades were removed, all the weapons would have to be rebalanced..

The SNAC would finally be nerfed to a level it should be now. Then we can bring back armour upgrades and "forget" to buff them back up.

Armor upgrades should be kept, but instead of having EVERYONE mount "the best" armor that fits in their cargo holds, why don't we do what has been suggested elsewhere and give people alternatives? Modules that instead of giving armor bonuses, give maneuvering, power, speed, or even hardpoint upgrades?

Someone of you should know that there are two pilots around Malta that dont use Armor Upgrades, and i bet they can beat almost every other players in their fancies Armor MK8.
(im not one of them unfortnately)

The issue with armor upgrades is that everyone has them. Instead of getting rid of armor upgrades, make various alternatives. Like powercore upgrades, shield upgrades, etc. This way you have gameplay variety instead of simply an extended time for dogfights.

I would take you up on this challenge, sin... but currently the only fighter I fly operates in gallia, and the npc's there are just... *shivers*
