Bernard.Picard has been sanctioned for:
Quote:1.3 Every player must have one ID equipped on their ship. Player should follow the restrictions and allowances listed in their ID and their roleplay and conduct must match the actions of their characters. In cases where these restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules.
Consequences: I see you are visiting Omicron Gamma as a Union Corse which is way out of the Corse ZOI. Corse also don't work with Corsairs as they are galaxies apart. I also see that you made your way back to Tau 23 which is allowed. I don't suggest you go out of Gallic space or the Taus again. You were fined. If you are found out of the Corse ZOI again, you will be jailed. Rumor is this isn't the first visit to the Omicrons either so I'll be watching. Don't let me see your name across my desk again.
For clarification purposes, being that far out of ZOI, allied with Corsairs, shooting hessians is a bad idea. Don't do it. If you were in your ZOI, that might be another story. Not while that far away from home though
If you post in this sanction and are not directly involved or a leader of the accused person's faction be advised that you are consenting to be subjected to the reprisal of my choice which may involve in game repercussions up to a ban.
Blaming members of your immediate family, neighbours, friends, pets, and assorted Orcs, Trolls and any other legendary creatures may result in the use of Admin Right #CTE 750AE
I kinda must admit that going to the Omicrons was overkill, but for my defense, I was following the lines of my ID. I will try my best to explain what happened in my point of view.
There is a line in the Unione Corse ID which states: "Can fulfill any Bounty and escort contract" without the "whitin the zone of influence" http://i.imgur.com/8EOvt3Z.png
Then I carefully read the Bounty Hunting Rules, the following are relevant I think:
Quote:4. Mercenaries, freelancers and bounty hunters may be hired on the spot in game by non-generic IDed players to assist with a combat without a forum post. The other parties involved in the combat must be made aware of this.
5. The minimum acceptable bounty payment, including blanket bounties, will be 1 million Sirius credits. Bounties larger than this are acceptable. No bounties smaller than 1 million credits will be valid or acceptable for posting.
I also made sure I requested a Bounty before entering the combat. 1 million per kill.
If there is a rule I missed/misunderstood, please do show me. Because in the Unione Corse RP, I always see other Corsicans going outside of the ZoI for Escort/Trading purposes. And because I saw that, I thought the lines in the ID without the "whitin the zone of influence" are valid outside of the ZoI.
I see, that was silly from me for making such attempt.
May I ask another question about hiring? So I could avoid being sanctioned a second time.
Are the escort contracts limited to the ZoI, or do they have a different rule like, the escort must begin in the ZoI but can go outside of it, or there is no ZoI at all?
The reason of why I am asking this question is because of the relation between the Corse and the IMG, since I often escort their convoys to New Berlin then come back to the Taus.
The allowances of your ID are only valid within the listed ZoI unless specifically stated otherwise. So, unless your ID allows you to do something "outside their zone of influence" or "anywhere", you'll only be able to act on self-defense when you leave your zone of influence.
In particular case of the Corse ID, these are your allowances:
Quote:- Can attack lawfuls, unlawfuls and quasi-lawfuls in self-defense, to protect an allied or neutral lawful ship, or in defense of a base of the same affiliation.
- Can demand cargo and credits from ships within their Zone of Influence but outside of Gallic house space, and attack them if they do not comply.
- Can demand contraband and levy fines, destroying ships that refuse to comply and as specified within house space as specified by house law.
- Can fulfill any bounty and escort contracts.
- Can treat transports as combat targets when executing a bounty or escort contract against them.
- Cannot use any transport with more than 4,300 cargo.
Zone of Influence: Gallia, Gallic Borderworlds, Taus
So, as you can see, due to having no allowances specified to exceed the ZoI limits, if you wander out of the systems listed in your ID you cannot engage anyone under any circumstances unless they engage you (and specifically you, not someone you're flying with) first. The line you referred to, which allows players to escort ships outside their ZoI is this:
Quote:- Can attack any ship in self-defense, to protect an allied or neutral ship, or in defense of a base of the same affiliation, both within and outside of their Zone of Influence.
Which is generally for house corporation IDs and is not allowed under Corse ID.
