I think that it is sort of the point that they do not, giving more things to do to actual police factions.

I can only foresee terrible things if zoners, indies at least, ever get a hold of this ability.
Why? I always see fightes near freeport. And COF laws say that no figts can be near freeports, no pirating, no runing from fights to freeports. So why not? We can deny docking permission if someone try to run from fight to Freeport or violate COF laws. Zoners are first faction that my friend is playing and i'm writing it from his name because he don't have forum account.
I'm not saying that zoners can deny docking permission on every base. I'm saying that zoners can deny dokcing permission only on their bases.

I also think this is good idea.
There are some factions which could occasionally use for this feature. However there are big concern about possible abuse and harassing players with it. That´s one of the reasons why only official police factions (so very few people which are easy to identify and punish by admins and their faction leaders if they abuse it) got it at the beginning and why there is trial period now.
I can imagine that some other official factions may get this feature in the future for examle as faction perk. But at the moment I can´t imagine (and from what I understand admins as well) giving this thing freely to open indie IDs (so basically to anyone who create a ship with indie ID). And I don´t mean only zoners but even indie navy and police IDs. There are at the moment too big concerns that community is not enough reasonable to use this thing responsibly and resist tempting to go wild with it.
When I designed this, my intent was never to make it publicly available due to how powerful this is. It would only take one of our resident mememasters to make a libby and run around nodocking everything he comes across to cause a terrible mess.
Sure we'd sanction him as we log every usage of the command, but harm would be done. Either way I hope this will provide a boost to our official police factions, they need it.
Please remember that as I said, nodock will not work with junker installations. If you want nodock to work with junker bases in house space, you will have to negociate it inRP on a per-base basis. Same goes with any installation that isn't lawful or corporate owned.
Perhaps there is a way to give the faction leaders the ability to enable this command on tagged ships on a case to case basis? This would allow them to grant this power to trusted or non-complete-newbie members only.

A great feature compensating the loss of influence of Police in the Borderworlds. Instead, they can now really fight smuggling inside House space. Let's give this a try. I am curious how it will be used and how useful it proves. If used well (which I assume), I think the days of tedious "FR5ing smugglers who rename and take a bribe" are over. That would be great news.
Hunh, I was genuinely surprised that the one day I check back here something significant seems to happen. This is a neat little development. How does this work, script wise? Is it based on rep or what?
