Sure, and prevent whatever you don't like , and we have a game that a few enjoys, cause it's tailor-made for them , the rest can get along or get lost ...
That doesn't sound like a plan to me
Sure, it's anoying sometimes, but it comes with the party, so get on with it.
I'm glad that 343 withdraw from idea of double Novas pretty early in development of the faction - however, it would be nice for bombers to commit "Nova Sudoku". But as I see that, we avoided the repercussions for using that.
Of course, we wouldn't be "that low" to do torpedo ramming. On the other hand, I'm not even mad if someone kills me with Nova. It is pretty hard to hit a fast moving target with Nova or Snac.

Keep them. In open space there's no problem in it. Problem are asteroid fields. The explosion range is too big. Chances are one of 35 salvos each bomber carries will cath you near an asteroid. Not to mention a groupfight. Make their detonation range smaller which would keep nova ramming intact, but help against "asteroid ramming".

That would make some problem with infocard, as Nova is the most destructive weapon in the Freelancer per lore. There are already some errors, as there is one fast-tracking missile and it doesn't track targets at all - it became the dumb fire projectile.
Also, you should keep in mind it may not have effect on caps because of hitbox.
After all, you don't bring torpedoes into asteroid fields. Why? In roleplay, a part of destroyed asteroid could hit you and rip apart your ship.

If you make detination range smaller, then we1ll have the same problem what was way back in .. 4.86 or 85 maybe, when Novas didn't do shield dmg to large caps , cause the detonation range was not big enough , so when the torp got to the hitbox, nothing happened apart from the nice boom boom ..
I personally didn't feel like dual nova setups are much of a problem as long as you do not mindlessly charge into the opponent and/or have a very powerful tunnel vision. In the Delta fight between Core and Corsairs for example, they stopped being a problem as soon as I paid more attention to my surroundings and positioning.
Instead, I find it really fun to play against and can only imagine that it is just as fun to play that setup. It is finally something you constantly need to be on your toes against.
People seem to think that I'm annoyed with Nova ramming being a thing, which is quite the opposite, I personally enjoy it and find it hilarious, the vast majority of my bombers are Novarammers and it's how I get the majority of my kills if I'm not in a Solaris gunboat. I'm simply throwing out there a fair suggestion about the usage of a weapon, which, right now, is often being deviated from its purpose.
Iunno, to me, each different weapon has a very specific use, and the fact that Novas are mostly useless against gunboats but a great way to swat away a snub is just an odd curiosity to me.
cd's weren't intended to be used to trigger mines. engine kill isn't mentioned in any of the sp tutorials or cutscenes. dual novas won't last forever, just like buckshot sabres aren't really a thing
