ADDRESSEE: Order Overwatch SENDER: O'Rhu Directorate SUBJECT: Decaying minefields
CONTENT: Greetings members of the Overwatch
I come in front of you with a matter I am confident my Cell will be able to solve. The problem in question is the constantly decaying minefields in Omicron Mu. Considering the increasing amount of intruders that manage to slip through and the fact that by the day, mines are leaving their intended position due to nearby explosions, drift and gravitational pull, something must be done. We had a talk over this matter once it has been brought to us by one of our members. We gave thought to this problem and settled on what I say to be an appropriate solution.
First thing first, we will do a survey of the area to see to what extent the minefields are depleted, but for that to happen we will need some data concerning the minefields, for reference. We ask you to forward this message to the Engineering and Logistic Department in Order so that they can provide us with the followings:
Density of the minefield
Layout of the minefield
Type of mines
Weight of mines
Explosion radius
Furthermore, any intention Overwatch has concerning those minefields should be expressed now, as this would be the best time to make them a reality.

Subject: Minefield Specifications O'Rhu Cell Directorate,
The Order Overwatch has authorised me, representing the primary fleet science division, to repond to your inquiry about the minefield specifications of the minefields surrounding the jumpholes leading to Omicron-100 and Omicron Zeta, respectively.
a. Density
6 mines per 350 m³ on average - values can vary due to factors such as depletion and applied force from other objects.
b. Layout
1) Partially randomised cubic patterns to confuse hostile navigational systems.
2) One tunnel designed to allow battleships to pass through and to create a bottleneck while defending.
3) Thick spherical 'Wall' layout for maximum efficiency and equal distance in all directions from the jumphole.
c. Type
ORGM-2 "Walker II" Gravimetric Mines
An advanced mine design based on Libertonian blueprints that were used during the Nomad crisis to destroy two Liberty Dreadnoughts blocking a jump gate, these mines were heavily modified to encourage use as stationary fortification measure. The exact composition of the mines is classified, although compared to other mines they are lightweight in order to minimise the amount of heavy debris during cleanups and the risk of chain reactions.
d. Weight and Size
50t/Mine
10 CSU/Mine (Standard Cargo Space Unit)
e. Detonation
Detection Radius (armed) - 150m
Detonation Range - 200m
Average Damage - 20000 standard measurement hull points - Expected damage may vary against standard shield types
The Science Division hopes that the O'Rhu Cell is pleased with the presented information. If there are further inquiries, we will stand ready to provide an answer.
