I would also input the background of the Bounter Hunter character as a factor.
Example , Is the Bounter Hunter an Ex-cop? If he was a cop, then he might be more inclinded to 'step in'.
If the character not an ex-cop or someone with a law enforcement background...then he might just shrugs his shoulders and wait for the Wanted Poster with a bounty to come out. A 'what's in it for me'.
Quote:Bounty Hunter ID grants its owner right to fulfill bounty contracts, escort traders, hunt pirates and terrorists, participate in military operations on lawful side
Nothing there that says BH can not aid pilots who call for help. Where does it say we can not ? Not much point being a BH if all you can do is sit in the office all day and wait for a job!

It all depends on your character. According to the existing faction's identity, from infocards and such, the Bounty Hunters Guild is a money grabbing organisation. They aren't goodie-two-shoes, nor are they cops. They are in it for the money, and protection from the pirates they betrayed.
You may want to roleplay one, as Darkwing has different roleplay to the Guild.
One problems really, the BHG ID and tag is one of the most spammed now, as it give the holder the right to
own a battleship, regardless of any form of RP other than being lawful ... Its an excuse to blow crap up with
a big ship, taking no payment. Bounty Hunters, as stated are, money grabbing buggers. They ain't the cops.

But thats what Bounty Hunters do, no money in flying around using h-fuel otherwise, is there ? You can
negotiate jobs away from bounties, but just flying around looking for trouble, is not a BHG job. Waste of
time and effort, unless its just PvP you are after.

Ok then.....Darkwing, as well as being " in it for the money" also have a long tradition of helping pilots/ traders who call for assistance when being attacked....remember the "Magnificent Seven" ?!

suzanna, this is not agains Darkwing, this is about people with bh tag and id who come somewhere and start shooting to all criminals, without any bounty, pirate activity, attack. just come and open fire.
Yeah, but weren't they hired? Admitedly they took a small fee out of pity, but they were still hired. (I think anyway, been years since I seen that film.)
If a trader want something done about a pirate, they can pay a bounty hunter or merc to do it...
A BH probably shouldn't go out of their way to destroy pirates without payment, but if one is nearby it would make sense for them to engage 'just in case'.
I would see merc being more towards money grabbers then bounty hunters. I could see bounty hunters patrolling the non house systems when they are not doing any active contracts.
Bounty Hunters file the role of lawful individuals who can go where the police cant.
That is called integrity, not greed. I guess the main thing is modivation and for some reason everyone is under the impression that an ex-criminal would chose bounty hunter over merc.
Cant really see ex-criminals either wanting to join or being allowed to join a lawful organization in large numbers.
