That is my official statement. I was going to give this a more sophisticated title, but that is basically what it TL;DRs to.
What is the point of having a highly dangerous substance in your lore, which is what makes a certain group the prime target for extermination and to be feared at the same time, if you can simply pull out your ''lol rp'' card and ruin the premise with this sort of nonsense.
If you are going to negate all and any danger from the Freelancer lore and remake it into a Carebears movie, you might as well just not even bother.
EDIT: By extension, the whole notion of Stabiline is as well.
Discuss.

Agreed, especially since Stabiline is a much simpler and safer option when you consider that the only way to "cure" cardamine addiction(that would make sense at least) would have to involve some sort of genetic manipulation since the addiction is created by the user's DNA being altered on a fundamental level. Would you rather take a pill or undergo experimental gene manipulation?
By the logic you're putting forth, it also would be stupid to resist eradication by the Nomads, conquering on behalf of the Gallic Royal Navy, stupid to attempt to crack down on slavery, and stupid to fight against political persecution from any of the major Houses of Sirius. Why is it so strange that in-roleplay there wouldn't be a number of efforts put forth towards attempting to mitigate or reduce dependency upon one of the most insidious substances in an entire star cluster?
Attempting to treat Cardamine addiction is a response to the addiction itself. It isn't like it's suddenly completely wiping away all effects of addiction in all the colonies.
Yes, it would.
Because once you ''deal with'' and remove these things, you are left with trading.
Stop writing us into a corner. You already killed off a good chunk of LNS and RM activity by killing off the war between Liberty and Rheinland.

From the standpoint of Wisp:
Stabiline is not readily available anywhere but Liberty right now. In Bretonia it is not supplied by us as we'd outright refuse any supply contract while Cardamine is allowed for personal use. Rheinland doesn't concern us because neither did they ask us nor Cardamine is really prevalent. In Kusari it's illegal even for Cryer to haul it and the only place it's really available is Fuchu and apparently planetside (though how if Cryer is not allowed to haul it? Teleportation?). We're still waiting for the response from GRN on the subject (for three weeks-ish now).
Also I fail to understand how Stabiline makes Cardamine addiction RP "dumb". You still need to take it regularly, same as you would with Cardamine. There currently isn't any actual way to remove the addiction permanently, but we're going to be working on it (if you want to cry powergaming then I would like to remind you that over the 700 or so of Cardamine awareness, the fact that nobody even thought of gene therapy is dumb).
@edit: Also the far as the general consideration of Stabiline to be a magical substance that cures Cardamine addiction, common cold, impotence, cancer and the lack of pvp skill comes mostly from marketing. I'm surprised that nobody on the Outcast side has attempted any counter-propaganda.
Protege I believe Spazzy is talking about RP that people are doing in an attempt to actually cure the cardamine addiction, not Stabiline hence this line:

EDIT: Stabiline is fine from a RP standpoint, the development of an outright cure kind of makes the whole dynamic of the Cardamine RP boring. It is less about if it makes sense and more about keeping the story and lore interesting. That is just my opinion of course and I am sure a lot of people will disagree with it.
Gene therapy on such a basic level would probably take a long time for the vectors to settle in and modify the DNA (from three to six weeks probably), would cause the person to be hospitalized for the time, would cost a whole lot of credits, would be really painful and would cause a significant risk of canćer in the later life.
It's not as easy as you'd think. But it would be possible due to how the Cardamine addiction is explained.
But they aren't "dealt with", it's a continuous struggle of conflict between two or more sides. Treatment is an attempt (attempt!) to mitigate Cardamine. The alternative is "Well there's this highly addictive substance ravaging our society and turning Sirians into unwilling slaves of the Maltese, better ignore it and keep trading".

I don't write the storyline, friend. I write infocards after the fact. Sorry that I can't be your scapegoat this morning.
There's always been people trying to roleplay out of cardamine addiction, it's nothing new. I'm just glad that Stabeline is around now so we actually have something that's canon instead of what used to be the go to "something from gallia" deus ex machinae, Though some clarification is needed on how it works IRP, there's nothing wrong with it existing
Also, the Outcast factions doing a smear campaign would be a thing I would like to see
