An Abridgement of Blood Dragon Lore (Sourced and updated from the WIki)
The history of the Blood Dragons goes back to the fourth century. The founding members of the group were the Shogun's Royal Guard during the Hideyoshi dynasty. In a vicious coup during the celebration of the revived Sakura Festival in 321 AS, the Shogun was confined in the palace on Planet New Tokyo by his own soldiers who had furtively been suborned by Samura Industries and supported their cause. The Imperial traitors asked the Shogun to surrender, along with his Royal Guard. The Shogun, mortified by the ignominy he had brought his family by backing down, committed hara-kiri. The guards, led by Kozue Okamura, did not acquiesce so smoothly. In a ferocious retaliation, they struggled to vacate the palace and triumphed in their objective. They withdrew into the twilight of Northern Kusari. Here they regrouped and began a long guerrilla endeavor in order to oust the Kusari government, now dominated by Samura Industries. In recent contemporary events, the government was replaced by a Republic instead of a Shogunate. This has now gone to breach more than our traditions, but now a direct betrayal of Kusarian customs. Kishiro shortly became the dominant corporation until the Gallic Invasion, where Kishiro was aggressively forced out. Kusari, as of now, is a puppet to Gallia, forced to play the role of a pet dog.
The Blood Dragons are a compact variety of Kusarians who hold the classical traditions of Kusari. The Dragons fight for the cause of their origin: Working to return the original dynasty to its glory, and return them all to glory. The Blood Dragons have gained the support of a handful of important government figures in Kusari, who voluntarily spy for them when able. To quote the famed and honorable Lieutenant Ozu, "The Dragons are small in number...but they are the best fighter pilots in the Colonies." We still stand by this quote, and Naval Forces have found it hard to defeat us in dogfights. The Dragons occasionally launch surgical strikes and commando raids in Kusari designed to destabilize the current government to the point where it slips and sympathetic officials could potentially seize power. Blood Dragons prefer to target Samuran convoys and Kusari Naval Forces patrols, with the occasional base engagement. Foreign House Corporations are sometimes engaged for supplies, but they are often left alone.
The group is loosely allied with the Golden Chrysanthemums, a feminist movement of women who are standing up against female discrimination in Kusari, who provide refuge and a forward tactical base for Dragon assault crews in the Hokkaido system. The GC also provide much of the essential commodities that the Blood Dragons require, a critical operation due to the complete lack of Blood Dragon landing rights within the rest of Kusari space. In 798 A.S., the company by the name of Deep Space Engineering was summoned by Kusari to create a Jump Gate into Chugoku. This was before they knew of our existence in the system. Our extreme attacks on the construction caused the creation of a Jump Gate to be delayed to the point of temporary cancellation, and the supply base connected to the Jump Gate came under KSP control. The KNF battleship Matsumoto was placed at the construction to defend against us, but even still, our attacks do not relent.
After Governor Tekagi's discovery of the Proteus Tome inside the giant asteroid that would soon be his fortress, the Order eventually contacted the Blood Dragons to offer them an alliance, with an agreement to share any information that either side uncovers in relation to the increasing threat of the alien race known as the Nomads. Many years later, Order and Blood Dragon scientists would learn that the true name for the Nomads was Slomon K'Hara. A lot of the information, however, has a point of origin in an ancient race known as the Daam K'Vosh, who had existed for millions of years but inexplicably vanished many millennia ago, with no trace as to a reason why. The Slomon K'Hara were designed as a guardian of the Daam K'Vosh property, causing the Nomad War. To this day, the majority of Daam K'Vosh language cannot be translated into English.
Ryukyu Base was built in 798 A.S. as a forward observation post, shortly before the completion of Tekagi's Arch. The base was built to watch over the construction of the Arch, and were prepared to combat any KNF that came near after Ryukyu's completion. Once the base was complete, the Blood Dragons immediately began moving in the necessary equipment and other supplies to repair and rearm their fighters in preparation for the eventual assault on the fortress. Several Order agents were also on the installation, conducting observations and interrogations of a number of kidnapped personnel from military transports heading from the fortress to the Hokkaido system. Now that the Arch has been cleansed of Tekagi's rein, Heaven's Gate was monitored, but was unable to be fully secured, resulting in the re-population of infestees in the Arch. Now the Dragons stationed on Ryukyu continue to fight the Wild who cross their patrol path, defeating them and one day, Heaven's Gate will be ours.
Eventually, in early 801 A.S., the Blood Dragons were contacted by a band of fugitives on the run, including the ex-LSF officer Jun'Ko Zane, and furīransā Edison Trent, successfully launched a raid against the fortress with the legendary Lieutenant Ozu to recover a Daam K'Vosh artifact called the Proteus Tome. Governor Tekagi was killed in the fighting, as were many of his Nomad-controlled followers, at the cost of many lives of the Dragons, and Lieutenant Ozu. The rest of Tekagi's followers fell into disarray and retreated towards an unknown jump hole in the Tohoku system and escaped. The Proteus Tome was eventually taken by Edison Trent to the Order, which was a key point in the victory of the Nomad War. In recent years, however, Nomad and Wild activity has been increasing in Tohoku; this has led to speculation that Tekagi's former followers may have returned to wreak revenge on the Blood Dragons for their part in the loss of the Proteus Tome and the death of Tekagi.
Cordial Relationships With Other Factions
The Order
The Order have been close allies to the Dragons for a while now, working mainly to eliminate the Slomon K'Hara threat in its entirety. They still give us support to defeat the Slomon K'Hara once and for all, and put an end to the alien threat. They provide fresh commodities and equipment for the Dragons, keeping us well supplied in our fight for Kusari. They also give tactical and military support, aiding fights against Wild and sometimes even KNF.
The Golden Chrysanthemums
The Golden Chrysanthemums are a group of radical Kusari feminists and sometimes even foreigners who stand like an impenetrable wall against female oppression in Kusari, to form equal rights between men and women. The Dragons honor their cause and even believe in it themselves, and thus so chose them as allies, seeing as both parties had a similar goal in mind. The GC were chosen as the Dragons didn't have many allies, and the Hogosha as well as the Farmers Alliance fell to Samura's grubbing hands. Today the GC provide sanctuary and supplies for the Blood Dragons, and defend them when needed.
The Gas Miners Guild
The GMG are believed to be a supplier of the Blood Dragons, though only in rumor. However, this is indeed true, and they have covered it up the best they have. GMG convoys have not been pirated by Dragon vessels as they occasionally run vital supplies for the Dragons for them to survive. Not without pay, of course. The GMG are properly awarded for their bravery in their assistance. As long as GMG and Dragon vessels are discreet, they can dock on each others' bases.
The Junkers (Congress)
The Junkers and their Congress is a highly organized group of scrappers who have the primary goal of clearing debris fields in Sirius. They mostly keep in the light trading ores and needed base supplies. Should you come across a Borderworlds Junker, you better pray you won't get in a fight. The Junkers are consistently moving supplies for the Dragons for the dream of obtaining a place in Kusari, which the Dragons have yet to decide upon.
The Outcasts
Though the Outcasts are technically not seen as friends, nor are they seen as enemies. They are merely tolerated by the Blood Dragons. They are tolerated because of their allying with the Golden Chrysanthemums. The Outcasts provide the GC with with cardamine, and this is the only reason why the Dragons allow the Outcasts in Kusari. At least until the GC find a way to cleanse themselves of this evil drug.
The Blood Dragons: Zone of Influence
The Blood Dragons are a revolutionary faction within Kusari and as such have a Zone of Influence to allow them to strike at any and all hostiles in Kusari, systems directly bordering Kusari, Lyonnais, and several other foreign systems.
のドラゴンの腹 - The Belly of the Dragon
This is the home of the Dragons. Chugoku. This space is under full guard and no unregistered vessel can pass. Only true Allies have a full grant of access. Chugoku is the location of Kyoto Base and Mito Shipyards.
どこに炎が到達します - Where the Flames Will Reach
Hokkaido
Hokkaido is the center of trade between Gallia and Kusari. However in recent occurrences, the Blood Dragons have intercepted trading ships moving by. DSE was a threat to the Dragons once, as it performed the failed creation of the Chugoku Jump Gate, but it is now halted.
New Tokyo
New Tokyo. The capital of House Kusari. And the core of its corruption. Much like the core of an apple, its seeds are containing cyanide. Poison. In the case of New Tokyo, The Naval Forces and State Police are the apple itself, whilst Samura, Kishiro, and now Gallia, are its poisonous seeds.
Honshu
Honshu is a system of conflict. Though it is larger than most systems, a span of each sector being 30K wide, it has bases which house the Blood Dragons and the Farmers Alliance. Both intercept traders moving by and interrogate them and their ship, destroying those harming their cause.
Kyushu
Kyushu is one of the main bases of operation for Samura, being as Planet Kyushu is a perfect place for growing rice. Samura took their chance with this and turned it into cold hard credits. And now with the Exiles in the area, Samura is contested. Blood Dragon patrols are occasionally seen in the area, striking at the cancer that plagues Kusari and her people.
Shikoku
Shikoku is the border between Kusari and Liberty...we come here rarely as it is populated with a large amount of Bounty Hunters on Deshima Station. Fuchu Prison is located here, owned by the State Police and guarded by the Battleship Myoko from a distance. Blood Dragons will occasionally be seen busting out fellow Dragons from the Prison on Prison transports. However, Blood Dragon activity has been sprouting up in and around Keiun Cloud.
Okinawa
The Gas Miners Guild occupies this system mainly, since it is considered Independent from Kusari. Since the Dragons and the GMG are friends, obviously the Dragons are discreetly allowed in this system. Planet Miura is off limits however, due to the issues of Isehara Refinery and Furyoku Station. The Dragons own Sendai Research Complex.
Sigma-13
Sigma-13 is under GMG jurisdiction, and therefore the Dragons may be here without the influence of Kusari laws, as well as any GMG owned system. There is a presence of Outcasts and Corsairs in the system as well. The freelancer base Newport Station contains interesting equipment that some Dragons have put to use. Dragons can be seen in this area running patrols to intercept Samuran or Kishiran convoys.
Sigma-19
Sigma-19 is another system owned by the GMG. The system hosts the guests of Orbital Spa & Cruise at Planet Hiran on the Luxury Liner Hawaii, under GMG supervision. The Golden Chrysanthemums have a somewhat powerful influence in the area because of the Battleship Matsuda. Blood Dragons can be seen passing through as both the GC and the GMG are friendly with the Blood Dragons.
Sigma-17
Sigma-17 borders the Omicrons and the deeper Sigma Systems, and is not particularly owned by any faction. The GMG are on Planet Kurile, the Hogosha are on Takkinai Depot, and Cryer Pharmaceuticals are on Atka Research Station. Samura owns the Jump Gate into Sigma-19. Blood Dragons are occasionally seen near Planet Kurile and sometimes out engaging Cryer and the Hogosha, as well as Samurans passing through.
Tau-29
Tau-29 contains a bundle of factions and is not particularly owned by anyone: The Zoners, Kishiro, The Kusari Exiles, and Samura. The Council is occasionally seen here as well as Blood Dragons, intercepting Samura, Kishiro, or Exiles vessels, but rather on the rare side.
Tohoku
Tohoku contains a hive of K'Hara activity, as the Wild who were on Heaven's Gate when Tekagi was assassinated became active again. Ryukyu Base watches from the Nampo Cloud vigilantly, ready to strike at any infested vessels when seen. The Order also populates Ryukyu to be able to assist in the defense against the K'Hara. A KNF battleship by the name of Sado watches the Hiroshima Jump Hole, perhaps not knowing of the revived alien threat.
Tau-23
Tau-23, before the Gallic Invasion, was sovereign space of the Independent Miners Guild. We have no quarrel with them as long as they do not attack us. Since the Gallic Invasion, Tau-23 is now the space of Gallia. Blood Dragons are rarely ever seen here, only to chase Gallic Lawful transports or Samuran and Kishiran transports moving through the Taus.
Kepler & Galileo
These are the edges of the borders between Kusari and Liberty. Independent as they are, both Liberty and Kusari have jurisdiction to chase pirates on their respective sides. Kusari pirates are rarely ever seen and Blood Dragons are a rare sight to behold; they almost never come here.
Rishiri
As Rishiri directly borders Kusari, it is obvious that it is considered as a part of the Zone of Influence. Dragons only enter this area to intercept enemies trying to escape.
Lyonnais
Lyonnais is under conflict by The Council, and therefore, the Dragons are allowed to enter Lyonnais only in order to chase enemies.
炎の縁 - The Edge of the Flames
Entry and activity within these systems is prohibited unless engaged or defending an ally upon the allies request or transporting commandeered cargo.
Leeds
Leeds was the center of Bretonian factories and hard labor for low pay until the Gallics took it over. Kusari's Navy surprisingly defended Bretonia against the new threat but it resulted in their exile. It is one of the few things we honor them for. Access to Leeds should be halted now, however, as Gallic strength in Leeds has grown greatly.
Tau-31
Tau-31 is under heavy guard by the GRN, making it Gallic Space. Whoever makes it in here will have a hard time getting out as the hostile patrols are deadly. It is not recommended to access this area if you are hostile to Gallia.
Hiroshima
Kusari's Navy has Hiroshima very heavily guarded. If you are to enter Hiroshima, do not enter alone. In fact, you're better off not entering at all unless you have heavy defense. The Blood Dragons believe that somewhere in Okinawa, there is a heavily guarded experimental shipyard.
Tottori
Tottori is a nest full of Exiles, Samurans, Farmers, and Hogosha. It is unknown if all are working together or if some oppose others, because Dragons rarely enter Tottori. When they do, it is for recon or chasing someone really worth the risk.
Omicron-92
Omicron-92 is the home of one of the final fights in the Nomad War. A Nomad Lair lies in the middle of the system, seemingly dormant. This is the same Lair that furīransā Edison Trent bravely entered to retrieve a Nomad Power Cell so The Order could power the artifact in his possession. Omicron-92 is off limits to any unapproved party. Dragons are allowed, but rarely visit due to the potential Nomad threat.
Omicron Minor
Omicron Minor is not known to be active. Order intelligence states that since the destruction of Planet Toledo, the Nomads believe there was no use to remain in the system and left, though some may still occasionally be seen. Entry is recommended to be escorted, as the status of Nomad threat is unpredictable. As such, the Dragons rarely visit here, as it is The Order's business.
Omicron Mu
As the home of The Order, the Dragons are welcomed guests should they knock. It is under very heavy Order protection and is likely safe for travel. Feel free to interact with Order personnel here.
ドラゴンの翼 - The Wings of the Dragon (Links Given)
The Blood Dragons are mainly a fighter based group, but have a sizable capital military for large scale wars. As the size of their power is unknown, the Naval Forces and any other enemy of the Dragons are left in doubt as to what they will need to stop the Dragons.
