This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.
It's decent. I don't think it would hurt to add more detail for a model of its size (you've got a lot of large flat faces on there and overly repetitive tiling screams 90s) but the design itself is nice.
As for what Haste said, I don't think you're going to be able to model a distinctly Bretonian looking capship and avoid that shape. The current silhouette of the model doesn't look too difficult to balance as is.
I think it looks good and I like the "cannons". I think the barbettes above should be removed, though. They look nice, but in reality they would limit the turrets' firing arcs. While there is more detail and the ribs are much better than on the previous model, I liked the general shape of the "shell" better. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, but the last one had some kind of a Victorian aroma stuck to it. Maybe this one is just too large. It reminds me of this:
The model is getting better. These barbettes looks fine Thunder and won't be a problem to limit firing arcs. You know turrets on some ships already can fire "through" their hull armor so if the devs want to - then can make same adjustment here. Tbh these details represent how much more armored the ship is supposed to be inRP.
As for the shell you are right.
1) The current model have this detail in front of the triple hangars - hangar control room. Its missing from this new model. If Unlucky can add it will fill this flat gap below and also give more space for details.
2) The frontal rigged hull of the shell should be made like "stairs".
Overall I really like the model. Not my type of a space ship but definitely looks bretonian - and thats all that matters.
Did some tweaks here and there. Lowered the overall height of the ship to eliminate the "BANANA" problem.Added Bridge to the bottom part. Changed the profile of the hump, less rounded.
1) Can you extrude the head like show in the image? Current one is small and looks like someone slapped his face with a brick. The proportions of the ship (mid) and (rear) areas are fine but the head is too small. Making it bigger will represent more quarters and better proportions for the full model.
2) Can you add antennas below the control room? It makes sense considering that might serve as communication array control. Also looks better.
3) The current "control room" is small and looks like a cherry on a cake. Simply make it longer like in the image - it wont look so odd.
Overall this is really decent model and the only thing needed are small details which are up to you. But since this is bretonian ship - texturing it will be the hard part. You know bret caps have 4-5 textures, some are meeh but look nice if used on "details" areas. Just explore the dunkirk details and what type of textures were used and try to recreate that in this model in order to make it "vanilla" colored.
Good work Soul!
1) I disagree. Firstly just because of my taste, because the head is one of my favourite parts there. It looks badass with the heavy jaw and protracted teeth. It also looks more robust, metallic, mechanical. Secondly, it resembles the prototype in Southampton, and I think it would be logical to take at least something from it.
