So after some hasty FLHook changes, i've added (locally for now) a new command which allows the spawning of solars using specific position and rotation coordinates.
That, paired along with a macro program (since creating console commands are a little more difficult than ingame ones. At least with the small amount of thought i've put into it so far) can make some pretty fun opportunities.
Events anyone?
Note, with the above video, I used Durr in Omicron Iota as it was the first multi-arch structure that came to mind. Since inputting them into my AHK script was getting old, this is only the bottom half. (Without FX, couldn't be bothered looking up the internal names for the loadouts. But special effects 'can' be added on through this.)
Edit: Wow. I know Dur is missing a lot of pieces, but jeez does it look crappy without the pretty lights and nebula.
Too bad this this will, most probably, go unused ingame now that apparently admin-planned events are considered as a "slap in the face to faction leaders who try to organize their own stuff"

Someone makes an effort, and there's already someone to say something negative. - I think that's almost a new record in terms of speed.
If you want to arrange an event yourself, throw me a PM.
You misunderstood. I am actually very glad that this is a thing, but the last thread regarding admin-made events made it pretty clear that apparently faction leaders are disgruntled that their requests are taking long to process regarding events and that admin-events are show-offs or somesuch. That and @Alley 's comments on the situation and why there is not an active Event System event at this point is due to how they are received by official factions.

I can't disagree with Alley's comments on the matter. That certainly is true, despite it being something that a lot of players have enjoyed.
You can call them show-offs if you'd like. I guess some people might have seen them that way. I haven't personally run any in quite a long time, which probably should change at this point.
I've went and taken a look at the events which have currently been requested. You're absolutely right. They shouldn't have taken as long as they have. I seem to have recovered from my slight burn-out that i've been experiencing for a month or so. I'll do my best to personally see that they're actually worked on in a timely fashion as they should be.
Another plan I have down the road, is to consider some sort of Game Master system. It's come up a few times in the past, giving people permissions to create events and run them without the Administration team breathing down their back. Luckily, Alley left behind code which lets us give people 'some' commands, but not all of them. Since i'm looking into FLHook a little more, I might make this my next project after I refining the little addition showcase here.
Maybe I can even write in some additions to another web framework i'm doing for the Development team which can let these 'Game Masters' to make use of the event plugin too.
One thing that made Bob a very fun event-leader was that he was the sort of person you could poke on Skype, sling an idea. He'd look over it, give a thumbs up and set it up to see what happens.
Adding layers of birocorcy over events would be a bad idea, but you can see how some events need to be planned in a bit more detail, especially if groups will use their outcome as RP and that is always a potential disaster.
My suggestion is that you stick with Jax's mentality, make smaller and locale events with as little RP impact as possible and let people have fun. Activity breeds activity and if people check the player list and see that something is going on, they tend to log. That is how we max the server out these days.
My point in the previous thread was that players are now used to events being peak-time and do not log for the sake of logging to see if something would happen. People would rather now log for a reason.
Boo, I suggest you think yourself as an impromptu DM and give people something fun to log in for every day, if it is possible.
For example, set up both Alpha and Gamma as the event systems, give OC and Corsair IDs an ''encouraging'' 3m per kill, give players a scoreboard for tracking their aptitude and watch the fun.

guess it'll take less time to arrange an event and clear everything after it. quite useful addon you've made there, great work. just don't cancel the events as it was with New London Azurite mining, k? we all were upset, back in that day.

I've always liked that sort of thinking. I've always wanted to work with something along those lines myself, though I just have not had the time until just recently as Summer Break began.
As I mentioned up in my first reply to you in this thread, if you (or anyone at all) wants to make an event, just throw me a private message. I'll probably make that message more visible/clear at some point, though I certainly wish to do that sort of thing myself.
I'm too busy with other things to come up with event ideas myself. But seriously, I don't have to. You guys have been known for coming up with ideas faster than we can handle.

The underground says the Nomads have nearly finished building a new installation. We didn't know that it was first, but now all evidence points to it being a Large Space Station. You are to go to Sector 4E and prevent this from happening. Naturally, we want you to kill all Nomad ships in the area, just to be thorough. Bear in mind that we will not be sending anyone else to assist you. You will be operating on your own, so don't do anything stupid.
