It is very very unlikely it will happen any time soon.

Doing so will likely invoke the wrath of both the Rheinland Government and the Liberty Government who won't take kindly to battlegroups attacking a neutral nation (now neutral anyways).
I recommend you focus your efforts against actual enemies of the Libertonian state such as Hellfire Legion or the Kingdom of Gallia.
As the whole diplomacy of houses are created through the RP of Players, i am sure that the peace with Rheinland is something that can be changed.
Major storyline development like wars between houses are not solely player driven, you need devs/admins to approve it. For example end of Lib-Rhein war was discussed on forums, but the decision was made by devs (and despite part of Rheinland playerbase disagreed with it). When players created war between their houses on their own without staff approval last time (Rheinland-Bretonia "war"), both participants were immediately punished by losing one NPC station and de facto forced to end it.

Yet i still dont get it...it is not as if a peace treaty would benefit anyone...strictly from an ooRP Point. Of course it makes perfect sense inRP, but is that really worth to shut down all activity in this area?
Well however i still hope it will change back one day. Until then maybe Gallia will get more possibilities to act with the next patch and therefore more active Players.

It wasn´t that much of activity in the final stage. Some was there, but it was far from golden time of big raids, sometimes even no one came to fight invaders. That war lasted for several years of real time, so it is natural players simply got bored over time. Though it is Rheinland who was affected more negatively, because Liberty still has war with Gallia while Rheinland got no replacement.

The Rheinland war lasted for like 5 years, only 3 of which saw any major activity. In the rest of the time, it turned into stalling, a dead end that eventually stopped producing even inRP activity with exception of the occasional "we're advancing on all fronts, and everything is pink and roses" from both sides.
Wars aren't as ooRPly beneficial as you may think.
Cheers all 88th and future 88th members,
as you have noticed since the NY incident with the 5th / [LN], our core Players have reduced their activity to a minimum. That does not mean the faction is no longer active, but we are waiting on an admin decision and will go from there once we know more. In either case we are still looking for many more members and sledge will post a Topic later on how to join us and what we can offer you to make your navy experience more interesting.
Hope to see you guys soon.
wow, compared to your usual Posts, this really was top of the notch.
Although i am honored you took the time to post in our information and feedback topic, i somehow cant really figure out why.
But nevermind, lets not ruin your accomplishments here and just enjoy this rhetorical masterpiece.
In the name of all 88th members...thank you.
i will miss those encounters when i fly in LRD and i suddenly get ganked by 6 snubs and 9 Capitals . . .
. . . no wait , we have that anyway , don't need faction for that !

You're welcome. But really, "we are not dead" posts as useless as my reply to it. It looked more like an internal message to the faction, that you can send over skype. It also was adressed to potential recruits, but "we are not dead" posts don't look attractive and useful even at this point.
If you want a feedback to the faction, well, this thing have a right to exist and I understand which sort of fun you guys have. I'd say I have a lot of the things to complain about, but since you flying in Liberty it's all fine.
