'ello there lad,
How are ya doin'? I'd imagine quite well, considerin' how much money ya got for that last info ya sent me way. Seems to me ye're quite good at gatherin' intel. Anyways, I'd like to ask ye for somethin' little different. Me group is currently tryin' to establish some business in 'Crons, and since ye strike me as someone who been there quite a lot, I want to ask if yer willin' to share some information 'bout that part of space. I'd aprecciate anythin' 'bout Order, Core and nomads, or Delta, Kappa and Lost. Anythin' helps, and I'd be gratefull fer it. Even sendin' more money yer way type of grateful. Or perhaps, if credits ain't what ye need, there must be somethin' else ya'd like to have.
NAME: The Core TYPE: Organisation DANGER LEVEL: High BEHAVIOR: territorial militaristic DESCRIPTION: The Core is a paramilitary organisation with the goal to establish a house in the Omicrons, Empire of Omicronia. The former leader, Eric Nodtviet, is said to be dead. Now, the Core is lead by Guildmaster Matt Bishop and Guildkeeper Cordelia Lyell. Bishop however is more of a badass puppet for Lyell, who owns the Core. During my time in the Core, Bishop captained the WV-Nemesis, Mako Battleship. Lyell captains the WV-Herschel, a Rheinland Cruiser.
The Core has a really... 'helpful' propaganda in the houses and is allied with Rheinland, simply because Rheinland is everything that keeps the Hessians and the Bundschuh from raiding Omicron Rho, the Core's home system. Since the Core is claiming the monopol on nomadic remains, house intelligence services also work with the Core to stay informed about nomad activities and the recent adapted nomad technologies.
Never fight a Core marine in melee, as Core members, especially the higher ranked, are biologically and cybernetically enhanced. Ever visited a Corsair bar? The bars of Core stations and ships are bigger and filled. To be honest, I had some good times in those bars. Anyway. Don't fruck with the Core.
Since the latest conflict of the Core with the Zoners, the Core is running significantly low on ressources. Before that, Omicron Delta was filled with their ships. When the Zoners called for help, Core had to face not only the Nomads, but also Corsairs, Hessians, SCRA, Gammuians, Order and Maltese.
The Core is mainly interested in power and money. They don't seek to find a solution to the nomads. Instead, they rely on the nomads' ability to regrow, to exploit them and sell the remains to the houses.
NAME: The Order TYPE: Organisation DANGER LEVEL: High BEHAVIOR: ambivalent, oppressive DESCRIPTION: They see themselves as heroes, but their 'younger' pilots are just a bunch of bloodthirsty maniacs. Just like Core, Order is very simple to provoke, it's hilarious. There are just a few reasonable captains out there. The main goal of the Order is protect mankind from the Nomads. They seek to destroy everything that uses nomad technology. That's the main reason why they fight the Core.
The Order is strict when it comes to their territorial claims. Never go to Omicron Mu, never go to Omicron Epsilon. They will simply hunt everything in there that is not Order. Well, with some exceptions. The Order seems to have an alliance with the SCRA and the Blood Dragons. They didn't even see a reason to hide that when they formed a fleet and moved to Omicron Delta, later they moved to Omicron Mu when Taba was still a Border Station and not a Starbase.
All in all, the Order just as bad as the Core is. They have good intentions but see themselves superior to all other individuals and factions. They are paranoid. And they give a fuck about the CoF's laws - as if it was that hard to keep a distance of 10.0k from a freeport when you're captaining a battleship. They think they can allow themselves everything. And you should make sure you use a good encryption with your transmissions, because they are known for intercepting them sometimes. Thankfully, I don't have to be worried about that anymore.
NAME: The Nomads TYPE: Species DANGER LEVEL: High BEHAVIOR: ambivalent DESCRIPTION: The crystal blue things all of us know. They don't fly those things, they simply are those things. Telepathic beings. The bigger they are, the more powerful they are, both telepathic and physically. They are also able of telekinesis. They don't die, they regrow. Humans can't kill them as long as they are conntected to their mindshare. Sapphire Raven once was able to disconnect one, a young one, under unique conditions.
They can feel humans over a large distance. Cloaking devices can't hide you from them. They can't talk like humans, but they can simulate it by talking telepathicly to you. Chances are you can have a peaceful encounter with them as long as you stay away from their belongings and systems. Nomads can artificially create Jump Holes. If they would want it, they could kill you and noone would find out how they did it. They can infest humans using non-spacefaring life forms we call 'incubi'. According to Sapphire Raven, an incubus can enter a human through any body opening. During a battle in Omicron Delta, Core pilot Cody Sires got infested within minutes and turned sides during the same battle - he died, though.
Never enter Omicron Iota! They will know you are or were there. They defend Iota, Major and Omicron-99 like white blood cells defend a body in case of an infection. Don't provoke them. They will remember. Don't try it. If we wish to seek peace, or at least a respectful coexistance, you shouldn't risk it.
If you encounter nomads in house space: Don't ignore them, but try to get away from them. If you see bigger nomads, run. Some of them are filled with hatred for mankind, and that's just the result of mankind's prior actions.
NAME: Omicron Delta AREA: Omicrons DANGER LEVEL: High CONNECTIONS: Omicron Rho-Jump Hole, Omicron Lost-Jump Hole, Omicron Minor-Jump Hole, Omicron Kappa-Jump Hole DESCRIPTION: Felt like my second home, to be honest. Omicron Delta was, in fact, a delta before the Great ion Storm of May, 823. A ridiculous amount of Jump Holes lead to this system. Now, that is changed and Maltese and Corsairs don't need to come to Delta to visit each other's territory with battleships. Less stress for Core.
The most interesting thing about Omicron Delta, in relation to the nomads, is this 'new' thing they found in the cloud , the Omicron Delta Edge Nebula. We knew there were always a bit more than just those big rocks. There was this Nomad Energy Node, now there is a, what IRG calls it, Nomad Azurite Reactor. Poorly defended, hidden in that cloud between giant rocks and debris of both Core and Order ships. The Wild now and then patrols the area as well as the nomads. I assisted IRG in a research mission here, when a Wilde Gunboat leered at their ships.
One thing to notice. Azurite Gas can be mined there, however, this Azurite isn't the same like Azurite A6. My knowledge on this substance is minimal, but I asked a few people about it. I leave it to the desk criminals to get more knowledge on this topic, as it seems Azurite A6 is something that causes mental illnesses. It's enough to have one Sapphire Raven out there.
Also, there is another nomad installation in Omicron Delta. It's the Lichtenfelde Complex, known for quite a while by the Core and the Order, and of course the Zoners, as Freeport 11 is the installation closest to it. Be careful in Omicron Delta with small ships and transports. The lesser nomads are very aggressive now and can take down unarmed vessels really quick. It's not a rare sight to see Marduks, Irras and Nammus in open space, the Kiribati field or the Edge Nebula. Especially around Lichtenfelde Nammus are often spotted.
One other notice. Ish'tar, the second biggest nomad I've seen so far, is visiting Omicron Delta sometimes. Be very, very careful, as this monster has an effective weapon range of over 8.0k and it's weapon is horribly efficient.
NAME: Omicron Lost AREA: Omicrons, very edge of Sirius DANGER LEVEL: Low CONNECTIONS: Omicron Delta-Jump Hole, Omicron Major-connection exits here DESCRIPTION: Omicron Lost is a desolate system. Three suns, Planet Moros, some asteroid fields. There is also a abandoned outpost of the Crayterians, but there is nothing left to salvage, thanks to Core and Zoners. Omicron Lost is mostly only visited by Core, Order, Nomads, Gammuian units and Zoners. Some of the latter are interested in researching the ruins on Moros. The Core claims the Iridium asteroids here, as they want the monopol on it, mining it both in space and on Planet Nauru in Omicron Delta.
Aside from all this, Lost is a paradise for those that seek a silent spot in Sirius.
NAME: Omicron Kappa AREA: Omicrons DANGER LEVEL: High CONNECTIONS: Omicron Delta-Jump Hole, Omicron Gamma-Jump Hole DESCRIPTION: Omicron Kappa is the home of the Gammuian AI. This system is unique in it's appearance, as it seems to be located in some kind of cosmic tunnel. I'm not a scientist, so I can't explain what this phenomena really is. Do it like everyone else and don't stay longer than neccessary in this system. It's contains a medium level of radiation anyway.
When the Jump Holes to Omicron-74 were about to become unstable, the Zoners managed to move the Livadia Shipyard to Kappa, probably using a fleet jumpdrive. That was right before the Great Ion Storm of 823. After that ion storm, Planet Primus disappeared from the star map. Don't ask me what happened. Strange things came with that Ion Storm.
The Gammuian AI will attack anything that comes close to Planet Gammu. I believe the Canaan Project is the only exception. They will also seek for valuable materials to extract. Includes materials of ships, especially active ones, so don't let them harvest you. Simply don't stay here longer than neccessary.
There is also an Corsair Outpost and a Zoner research station named Corinth. One would think they fully stuffed that station with high tech equipment, but people are actually allowed to dock there and they have a small promenade deck with some shops. Didn't expect that when I was there.

'ello lad,
I hafta say, ya really surprised me. Thanks a lot. Especially the pieces on Ishtar and Core claimin' the iridium is much appreciated. Yer account should be fatter any moment now.
Now... somethin' tells me ya've been gatherin' intel fer some time. And I'd be surprised if this was all ya have. As ye 'now, I've been doin' it too, though I doubt my database is anywhere near to yours in size. Seems pointess to do the same thing twice. If I'm wrong 'bout this, than sorry I bothered you, but if I'm right... would ye mind sharing? Fer a price if ya'd really want. Of course I'd share my stuff with ye too.
I can't say I don't appreciate your wish to throw your money at me, however, I must refuse here. You know, I'm sure you have only the best intentions about how to handle worthy information I may or may not possess, however, in the wrong hands, my database could cause much trouble and potentially endanger innocent entities.
I'd prefer if you would throttle your curiosity a bit and restrict yourself in requesting only the information you actually need. With knowledge comes responsibility.

'ello lad.
While I ain't exactly happy with yer response, I can understand it. One can't be carefull enough. However... we both saw the Gates in Iota. We both saw the Holes in that one particular system ya're so secretive about. I personaly saw and fought nomads on the orbit of Stuttgard. One could argue I need every bit of information I can get. I do realise there has to be a lot of potentially... sensitive data, ya really think I dinnae understand the importance of keepin' it secret? I asure ya, Mr. Vertiga, my interest in nomads is not fueled by curiosity, but necessity. Is there really nothin' I can do to persuade ya?
However. I will not pressure ya. Yer database, yer decision, and I will respect that. And I'm gratefull ye're willin' to provide at least some information, I'll definitely turn to ya if I ever need some specific piece of data.
That bein' said, I can't close this message just like that. I'd like to make a request. One of my... associates, goin' by nickname Redfire, developed... not curiosity, but an obsession with nomads. I have to say I'm worried 'bout him. If you ever hear anythin' 'bout him bein'... detained by Wild or nomads, or... hell, infested, could ye send the info my way? I'd really aprecciate it.
And remember, anythin' tradable ya need, it's a high chance I can obtain it.
To be honest, I really wonder about this said neccessity. What makes Freelancing Escorts & Repairs interested that much about the Omicrons and the nomads? To me, it seems you have a significantly deeper interest in all this than the usual freelancers. Yet it has to show if it's good or bad.
Concerning your associate. I suggest to get a sample of his blood and ask the Core to analyze it. The Core actually knows enough about infestations to identify infected people this way. While there are enough other factions out there that also are able to identify them, Core will just don't give a fuck in case he is infected, so you can handle the situation yourself. However, if you wish to have other people take care of it, ask the Order and they will kill him.
Anyway, if I should find out more about this Redfire, I'll contact you. Be sure of it.

'ello lad.
Well.. I'll take it as no. Fair enough. But I'd like to clarify a few things fer ya. The FL-ER is not interested in nomads as a group. Yes, we do intent to fight 'em, should they attack us, just as any sane man would do. But only me and Redfire are interestin' in... monitoring or studin' 'em. Why Red does it, I dinnae 'now, but my interest is rather pragmatic one. The more I 'now 'bout 'em, the better I can protect my business. And as to the Omicrons... well, iridium. That simple.
