That would be Gronath. I see no Order weaponry, Supernova is universal equipment (also explains out your previous bit). Also, I recall there being some intriguing RP behind his Red Catamaran. Think before you speak.
It's not about winning lad, its about having fun and rping, sorry if i think that his weapon load out is oorp, my opinion.
Codenames and the supernova are considered universal. It wouldn't be too oorp I think for bombers to use experimental weapons (codenames), heck half of them are prototype-style ships anyway.
Some of my bombers use codenames, however I don't just go for the biggest and best ones, I choose ones that look good. The origins of the weapons are not clear nor consistent, so it's hard to choose codenames for your roleplay...
I know that those weapons are universal but having your ship decked out with them for the sake of PvP whoring seems to be oorp to me. Maybe the lad has a rp for the pirate ship he flies, but i think that if he's gonna hunt a pirate, he need to not hunt them in an unlawful vessel. I remember when i was in in that short group called ICO and a fellow pilot was enroute to get a BH cruiser and had to dock on Primus becuase of the corsairs trying to kill him, so he was forced to get a Huntress cruiser instead. so he goes back to manhatten with it and i believe hoodlum told him to get rid of it because having an unlawful ship with police tag is oorp. As this may not be the same as this chaps rp, i still think it applies. but whom am i, a mere nobody
He's a mercenary. Read the mandalorian's RP before you continue...
One of my mercenaries uses a Bounty Hunter Bomber and is hostile to them. It was the most suitable when I created him, considering his background and such...

I'll quote myself here...

Amongst other things, one I had in mind is people that claim that the Supernova is an Order exclusive weapon and make this kind of unfounded, uneducated and uproar provoking claims to get leverage.
Now, for a little education...
Evidences of the existence of a contract between the Mandalorians the NovaPG
Looky look! "Enemy Forces: ... Ranov'la Aran" the same name you called an ooRP PvP whore. Hey, he's killing KNF. I wonder how the BDs will feel about it. Maybe they'll send him a gift or something (Post #309): http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...4343&st=300
Funny is that the other day, when I went all by myself against your gunboat with a bomber in the very same conditions and you won the fight. What followed weren't claims that I was an ooRP PvP whore, but a light hearted chit-chat. Now, when it was you on the other side of the stick, suddenly I'm ooRP and PvP whore. Now, it seems, sir, that you have acquired the fine ability that we Mandalorians appreciate in our targets. The ability to make a lot of parties mad. Currently you have nothing short of THREE bounties on your head, one of which is an exclusive job offered to our organization (because we have a historic of delivering). It seems to me that you are indeed a more than suitable, very well within RP target for any Mercenary. PvP whore? Even though the KNF has enough reasons to be mad at us, we left Kusari (right after we destroyed your ship) without looking for a fight (sure we did exchange a LOT of taunting). Because NovaPG isn't offering us money to kill KNF anymore. Make no mistake, if you don't have money on you, Ranov'la Aran and the rest of the Mandalorians couldn't care less about "PvPing" you.
We didn't make up a story to justify those ships. We ACTED (RPed anyone?) a story that granted us those ships. And still, even though I'm pretty much sure Die Hard (NovaPG's leader at the time) would have granted us many more beyond the ones we've actually taken, you'll see only two of the three Consuls (one of which is me) and the Mandalore himself (our leader) flying them. Our warriors and our captains weren't allowed to even touch those ships.

You honestly have never tried to kill a capship in a bomber without a Supernova. It doesn't work. You need some 12 bombers with Mini Razors to be able to muscle past shields, and most factions aren't that big. This assumes that you never miss, by the way. Sorry, Supernova is not "PvP whoring" equipment, its a necessity. Armor is similar, but its more a skill thing than a numerical impossibility.
Gronath illustrated rather well why his mercenary has a Red Catamaran. If you want to yell at people's ooRP loadouts, please find some that are, in fact, at least questionable...
EDIT: You apologized in between starting to type and when the post was finished. Thank you for being reasonable.

Apology accepted, Captain Needa.
It's alright, man. As you have said yourself, it's about the fun, not about winning. Which brings me to something of a counterpoint (more like an addition) to Hood's initial point.
I sometimes lament the precious time we spend in game looking for "ooRP" stuff to complain about AS WELL AS the time we spend in "ooRP" complaining about them rather than actually "RPing" our encounters somehow. Not that there aren't aberrations that are quite unsolvable, but we get rather jumpy at the slightest trace of the so dreaded "ooRPness".
Your reaction to our encounter was an indicative of a general stance I've been observing in this community for quite some time. Sure, there are those people exploiting the game's hardware with a "win at all cost mindset". In our case, the cost is some sensible reasoning in coming up with, not an excuse, but a role to play. Not an "RP"... (I'm starting to hate the term and I'll elaborate on it further on).
There are some characters flying around with extraordinary stories in them, which doesn't mean these stories don't add up. Unfortunately, we are so quick in judgment and loud in creating a fuzz around that judgment, that we are incapable of listening to those stories. We are so busy flying around preoccupied with all the possible "ooRPness" surrounding us, that we are incapable of actually playing those which should be the roles of our characters. We merely fly under the guise of those long forgotten proposed roles, but we can't get over ourselves (the players) to truly become them. We are no better "RPers" because we have some piece of written story tossed around somewhere to "justify" us abusing our characters.
And that brings me to another issue. The so called "RP stories" have become a harm to role playing here. Writing may be a consequence around role playing. It is a good thing for a character to have a background; some facts that will lead that character to some chronological point; and perhaps a purpose that will drive that character into further existing. The thing is, none of these need to be written, they need to be known by the person interpreting that role. No actor can be exempt from his responsibility of acting because there is a copy of the script in the backstage. The script is not important for the play, it is important for the actor.
Of course, RPG players are commonly both writers, directors and actors at the same time. As such, reading and writing hold a great importance for them as people. But still, those elements are but distantly related to role playing. Role playing is about characterization, as Hood puts it; and he continues, "it isn't about writing of stories to justify a choice..." I'd say actual role playing isn't about writing stories at all. Stories serve as basis for an actor to play his role in them, but they most definitely aren't, in themselves, role playing. If stories were role playing, we wouldn't need this crude artificially created universe for us to express our roles, we could make do with the forums alone.
Unfortunately there are actors who aren't really actors, and whose purposes supersede the realm narrated by the play in progress. They bring swords and shields to love stories, or machine guns to medieval sceneries, just so they can have the upper hand somehow, even at the expense of the overall ambiance. Poor them. They didn't really understand the purpose of it all and have become the buffoons of the play. To the eyes of the audience, they are out of place, they don't really belong. But a true actor, immune to the absurdity of the travesty which has just conjured itself in front of him, still mindful of the play, will stick to character and improvise: "My kind sir, how very odd it is for a man of your heritage and overall appearance to be brought before us here! I wonder what bizarre conjunction of events have made this possible..." and upon using that line give their counterparts the cue to continue. Then, all shall see if such queerness is the consequence of some elaborate and original script, or merely a blatant disregard for everyone else's efforts to present an enjoyable play.
