A new skype virus is being spread around again. It works on the same principle like the last one except instead of baidu it's using various different pages in the form of "word-XX" (for example skims-24 or deeds-35) although it may be more. In any case, the link contains your skype username at the end and if you click on it, you infect yourself and send it to all your contacts. If you receive a suspicious link from a contact that contains your username, do NOT click it. There may even be a chance of getting infected by just having an easy to crack password of your skype or email connected to skype, so it's recommended you change it to something stronger.
The only issue I have with Discord is the lack of user-level control. I don't want people to be able to PM me unless I accepted them as friends.
To put it in perspective, when the forum hack happened, when someone figured out I was in the Tides of War discord chat, it probably was spread and I suddenly got a metric ton of spam of people asking me what was going on. I ended up having to leave the TOW discord to be able to work undisturbed.
Ok kids. Uncle Tabby is only going to say this once: Don't Click on Links that look Suspicious.
Email Scams and Skype Scams work this way in order to make you curious and click on their trap. Don't give into this curiosity or you WILL regret it. Be smart, be cool, don't click weird links.

yes, peoples can pm you if you are in a server with them, unless you tick a check box(on each server you've joined) in which case they will no longer be able to, unless you add them as friends

TL;DR you can only be pmed by people who are in a server with you, if you don't want that and only want pms from friends you can disable that on server-by-server basis.
