You could potentially have it so that the new Edge Worlds are slightly outside of Sirius so that they appear on the galaxy map instead of Sirius Sector. That way they don't clutter up the current map and the Disco Navmap will remain unchanged even if these new Edge Worlds are in constant flux in terms of where the jumps lead.

That actually brings up an interesting point and is a really good idea.

Why isn't Gallia there?
I always figured it was for convenience. I personally think it should be off the Sirian map because it makes no sense lore wise.

It's in a different sector, so it seems only right that it'd be moved elsewhere.
The Deeper Omicrons should be elsewhere as well. Things that lay way beyond Sirius. Maybe Conrad's little pet project jumpgate could lead to one such system. Who knows?
Since the Omicrons right now basically only have up to 4 people at a time in it, most interest in the area is lost due to lack of action and player interaction. However this could all change.
Omicrons in Vanilla were dangerous, try going there in a Starflea. Exciting stuff. But that was what was lost in Disco. The single player feel of Vanilla with friends. Where you could go out to dangerous places in your cruddy ship and try to manage a hard as hell mission. That's what needs to be brought back.
Make new systems and update anomalies in certain systems leading to new places. Make areas in these systems mysterious and exciting to explore. You could make a heavy duty minefield in a nebula, where the mines do about 100,000 damage a pop, and only fighters could squeeze in, moving ever so slowly as to not hit a mine.
(In loving memory of those who tried to fly into the mines in Zone-21 knowing not of the entrance.)
Within this minefield there could be hardcore fighter spawns, with high armor and upgraded guns, maybe high refire guns with the damage of codenames. Boost their turn rate and a little boost to speed. Have them drop incredible loot maybe each fighter dropping something of worth about 250-500k. Maybe even have something simillar to gunboat patrols, where its rare to occur but the fighter being escorted has even more armor and damage etc.
Make it crazy, make it fun. In the case of the Omicrons we currently have, we should change their current state to a "dangerous zone" where NPCs are back in their former glory, and not their dumbed down version. This should be a place which has a single player feel all its own, with less RP and more focus on survival and intensity. The further out you go, the more dangerous it becomes. With the addition of new systems, they should not be the exception. Make more systems, make them exponentially more dangerous.
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
Someone hasn't flown down in Omicron Major recently.
The way I see it, all the new systems should simply be named "Unknown" have server-side Jump holes (if that's possible?) and they should change where they land about once a week.
They can basically be mini-"Gold Rushes" for mineral deposits or rare artifacts. Maybe even have events tied to them from time to time where scientists want to get to a specific station out there or something.
I feel like this could get a bump since I've just read it again and must agree.
Although I doubt anything will change or at least much, one option would be to make the Omicron systems 3x larger or 2x.
When I think about Omicrons, I think about very giant and dangerous system you can barely travel through alone, I remember one system back in HHC, it was so dangerous that you literally had to have comrades with you.
While it would be stupid to make people gather a fleet to cross the Omicrons, making it harder and longer to travel through would be a good thing imo.
What I thought about:
-Make systems way larger so it feels like a really long trip
-Just very few bases per system (insert what Vendetta said at this point)
-Every NPC you encounter (should be mainly nomads) should have weapons that actually hurt, give them CD's too.
Basically, if someone successfully crossed the Omicrons without dying it should feel like an actual success, you should feel happy that you're still alive and not see them as "another New York without lanes" basically.
