Laz -did- screwed up. Deleting the Faction Shared Ships is not something I could even think about. This is the reality you have to face. You always have to hold your words and answer for your actions. After such thing, saying "I'm sorry" isn't enough.
The actions will say for themselves. If we get both Lyth and Laz unbanned for a trial period, let's say, two weeks, and they screw up - it will be their fault. That is just my personal opinion.
Lyth was a guy who was devoted to his faction, went to extensive lenghts to make sure everything was in order and would joke around on the forums. Yes he posted in oorp threads like this one too much with unecessary stuff. But considering the evidence used against him was him and I joking around in the shoutbox, I don't think an all out ban was justified. A probation would've fit better.
Laz on the other hand coordinated with those who must not be named some people and deleted our core SRP ship, stole money off all the ships and off the banks. Afterwards the only admin willing to help was cashew, who left a few weeks later for some reason. Considering he also had help from an admin while he was deleting the ships, if you were to unban him again I'd keep a close eye on him. I have talked to him a bit, hes changed.
I feel as if a large part of the issue with bans could simply be sidestepped entirely if admin decisions (whether sanctions, bans, implementation of events, or whatever) were conducted in a more transparent way. I'm not proposing a return to the ages-old system wherein sanction threads were forums for public discussion of the offender, but I do think more openness on the part of the team about exactly why they do the things they do, and why they don't do the things they don't, rather than the stonewall "this is what we decided, and there's no argument on the matter" attitude that gets displayed (even if community input is often quietly considered) would be beneficial.
Transparency, honest, and straightforwardness breed, if not trust, at least respect. Secrecy, on the other hand, incites mistrust, backroom speculation, and unnecessary drama. The weighty task of trying to foster a more pleasant and understanding community is the responsibility of each and every player, but most especially of the community's moderation and administration.
It's an example of improvement, though. Posting messages to the admins in the RP section, giving ships non-roleplay-related names and all that, are indications of you not having improved. And I take it you'd have more grip on the rules if you'd work on your english.
