Alright, well I spent a little while in New Berlin today thinking of who could tax outside Yanagi Base in Sigma-13, and I thought of a Junker, and thought:
"Well, if the Junkers are so protective of each other, and all these civilians kept passing by their base and all these people doing illegal things, wouldn't it make sense that they would start heftily taxing those people for possibly reporting the Junkers to the GMG and ALG?"
Well, that was pretty much my question, so, would it?

Well I agree with Tinkerbell on Yanagi, and as well with Linkus on Rochester... Taxing smugglers is "ok" but for dock, if we will think about all the new players around, may be a problem. Not at Yanagi though, no new players around there.
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.

So...You're pre-WWII Germany?
Sorry, I couldn't resist...
Edit:
Nvm, I found it...

Make me dictator for life and we can do away with politics.
And I don't mean you do it to everyone coming though--look for the "high rollers"--build a dossier of screens on them and then one day you say, "By the way...you might need some protection."
Baconsoda: You do understand the ALG actually asked Junkers to come into S-13 to help with the cleanup of whatever is left of the Rheinland fleet? I would be surprised if GMG didn't know of that either, so I doubt the Junkers are really hidden in that respect.
Though then again you could definitely start taxing people going through Junker space as a sort of "toll", since the space around Yanagi is pretty much Junker space, and they don't want to see people stealing their junk. As long as you keep away from the trade lanes and Naha, GMG shouldn't go after you:P

Well of course I knew there were invited in there, but they weren't invited to let Corsairs and Outcasts into the system and give them a place to stay, and smuggling all sorts of things in and out of Rheinland and minimally into Kusari. That is what I meant, that people would be seeing what the Junkers are really doing in Sigma-13, not that they were there in general.

I think its a bit strange that traders constantly pass through the NB/Sig13 jump hole and the Sig13/Chugoku jump hole. They're not supposed to be common knowledge. So why is it the most commonly used trade route? Seems to me that this trade route in itself is a bit OORP. And for traders to be passing by Junkers, Blood Dragons and Golden C's ... and them all being real friendly ... yeah ... i'm thinking there's no RP on this trade route other than traders makin money and pirates tryin to get a small portion of it.
