I am almost certain that exploiting the bug where weapon platforms dont shoot is now seen as cheating.
I am also aware that admins made a statement that being killed by weapon plats is the same as pvp death.
Additionally, if you want to refresh the bug, all you need to do so change the defense mode of the base.

Change the defense mode of the base, or change the location of the defense array or reset the same defense mode one more time
All of those will work, and require yourself as an owner to be online 24/7 waiting for any attack that happens so you can start doing one of those actions so the attackers have less chance in using that bug ... It's hard and not applicable, not logical and not fun xD
It's great to know that now it's been implemented as a rule , although i still remember the TENS of bases that died by abusing the same bug while the owners were shouting with all what they got from voice to reach the admins and the devs and the community as all, that the bug is being abused and they will loose their bases ... and no one moved a silence
Hopeless case @nOmnomnOm but i appreciate your clarification.

Well that's too sad @Alley , but i have been voicing info about this bug for ages and not only me, but many others
It's one of the reasons that makes POBs worthless and no one wants to loose their money to a bug anymore.
I am sure if you dig a little on the older posts about POBs bugs discussions, then you find many voicing this opinion.

Maybe if you rp'd correctly with your neighbours instead of having your cake and eating it. People wont want to siege your bases?

You know what , i was going to reply to that , but from the amount of ignorance about the entire situation that i felt through every letter from your reply
I decided to just tell you one phrase
Go away widow , find something else to enjoy ruining.
I was there at the destruction of tw of your bases that one in kusari and solitaire. The rp leading up their destructions meant that is was inevitable in each case.
I am not talking about bugs or exploitations of them but rp infact. As rp can be cheaper in the long run.
Yet some how when it goes wrongly for you. You are able to play the victim.

I think that just means they destroyed the guns on it. The guns don't respawn until the platform is destroyed.
That's a basic freelancer mechanic not even related to POBs. You can do this on any solar (ie: base/wp/whatever) with guns attached to it. Ask the devs to buff the platform guns to infinite health.
No, that is not the case. In all instances, the PoB Weapon Platforms cease firing after a few respawns. It happens irregular, and sometimes some do it again after a while, but mostly only when resetted or destroyed. So people during sieges give order to not attack the not-firing platforms. That bug is known and abused for the all sieges I witnessed, including Solitaire Metropolis and Reutlingen. They kill the platforms until they don't react anymore. The guns itself remain untouched, thus some of the platforms actually fire again after a very irregular amount of time.
In fact, we should test that with Solitaire Metropolis right now. Black Widow surely doesn't mind.
