Nova took a step back, trying to go through what she had just seen. Just what the hell happened out there? Nova, having collected her thoughts, looked around, spotting Reyes. "Servant of the light... Light... This thing has to be Nomadic, nothing else I know of references anything to the 'light'."
After thinking of what Reyes may be doing, she began to walk towards the door, the two operatives more suspicious having heard the stone faintly.
As Nova left, Reyes slumped over against the arm of her chair she was sitting in, eyeing her as she walked out. "Take it... far away from here... please..." She covered her face with her arms, her breathing rather heavy and her eyes a little damp.
"She knew the risk.. She was a valuable servant.. Her loss was of great discomfort... With hope, we will find a new servant.."
The only place you're going is to the lab, stone. Nova began leaving the Bay and headed towards Juneau's R&D lab to have the stone analyzed. As she left, her escorts returned to her flanks, following her the entire way.
"Alright boys, got a little gift for you. I want to know this stones origin, if it's Nomadic, contain it immediately and contact me. The thing talks, so don't let it feed you any lies. It's become clear this is a key part of what happened to the LSC we have in dry dock, and I want to know what kind of role this thing had in it."
Nova was worried that this artifact caused part of what happened in the Omicrons, but more importantly was Reyes' plea to get it far away from her and the vessel. Nova then left to go question Reyes. The crew knows more about this stone than what they're telling...
He seemed a little taken by surprise that he'd ask about his XO. However, out of reluctance, he continued to answer the questions put forth in front of him. "She's... like a daughter to me... I never-.." He seemed to choke on his words somewhat, the topic in of itself difficult for him to let out. ".. never had one of my own.. but she fills that void perfectly.."
His eyes seemed to drift off into nothingness, his mind occupied by the recurring thoughts he had for Reyes. I hope she's not taking this too badly..
Sader walked to the table and grabbed the datapad along with a sandwich then turned to Hemlock. "Allright. That's it for now. The guards will escort you to your new quarters aboard the shipyard where you will remain untill the investigation is closed. Acces to the communication network will remain revoked and contacting anyone from the ship is forbidden as well in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation. GUARDS!" As Sader shouted the door quickly opened and two marines walked in. One of the marines turned to Sader and saluted to him wich he replied to with a quick nod. "Admiral.""Sergeant. Escort Captain Hemlock to his new quarters aboard the shipyard." The marine acknowledged the order with a quick "Aye aye" then turned to Hemlock. "Sir, please follow us."
"I was sure we discussed this already. Unless you're either situationally deaf, I'm going back to my room.. Here. On my ship."
He gave the marines a quick acknowledged nod before making steps to walk out the door. He didn't seem upset or pissed, more actually thankful his time with Sader was done for now. "Sorry, lads, but your boss forgot something... again.."
The marine quickly stepped in Hemlock's way. "I have my orders sir. Follow us willingly or we will use force.""In your place i would cooperate. This isn't a negotiation. Your quarters are part of the investigation so you cannot go there.
He clenched his fists, turning around towards Sader and taking a few steps towards him, stopping at the table that was between the both of them. "Listen here you rat-faced bastard.. I've had it to here with your deception and your ridiculous lies and loopholes. You cannot, nor will you, bar me from entrance to my own home, and I'd rather take a bullet to the chest than let you casually go back on your own word, especially since I was so intensive on it before."
He stood up straight, regaining his composure. "This place is my home, as well as for the rest of my family here. You'll have to do better than think that I'll just go along with your deceiving little charade."
"You're worse than Reaper ever was. At least he had the half-decency to just plain frak off."
As the stone was analyzed, Nova returned to the ship, trying to track down more information on the stone and 'Reaper'. The first place she started was going through the internal data over the past year, if Reaper had attacked and killed members of the crew, there must be a recording, audio trace, or something left behind, or so Nova figured.
While her operatives searched for outside information of Reaper, she went back to the CO quarters to continue her investigation, having a closer look at Hemlocks things, albeit knowing it'd likely anger him. Nova left her escorts at the lab so she entered alone with no one guarding the door, not caring if someone entered while she looked, she was only doing her job after all.
"Operatives, as soon as you get a credible lead on Reaper, I want someone assigned to it. Lab operatives, once something of note is found out or the origin, or confirmation of being a Nomad artifact or anything about that stone, I want to know about it. And I want someone to check up on what's going on in that conference room, if those two get into it, I want them stopped. Nova out."
One of Nova's operatives went to the conference room to keep tabs on whats going on, while the lab team continued to study the artifact.
