The scale of the estate was well beyond Caroline's expectations.
- Hm. - was her response to John's welcoming. - That's good. - she then replied, looking forward to getting her mind off work-related matters. She took her time unfastening her belts, looking over the immense building. She then got up, following her companion to the cargo bay. - Oh, John, this isn't necessary. - she said, seeing him ready to carry her bags outside. - I can handle my own baggage.
He laughed at that. ''You come to my home, grace me with your company and expect to carry your own luggage? Now what the hell kind of host would I be if I didn't extend to you any and all kindnesses, as is your right to recieve such kindnesses, as a guest. No my dear, it is no trouble...come come'' he said walking toward the house ''Let me show you to your room.''
- Alright, let it be your way. Just give me the backpack so I don't feel awkward. - she said with a smile, taking the smaller piece of luggage away from him. She then followed him outside. Oddly enough, she hesitantly slowed down upon exiting the ship. She looked around, then up into the sky, before catching up with John.
- It seems I'd have to focus purely on exploring this house, if I am to see it all during my stay. - she said after catching up with John. She continued to look around, most of her attention focused on the mansion. - Are you part of the royal family?
He laughed loudly at that. ''No love, we're not. Our grandfather and father got very wealthy. This is their legacy, we have no ties to bretonian royalty.'' They reached the top of the steps and he pushed open the doors, the entrance hall was empty, save for the various artworks that lined the walls. He continued walking untill he hit the central staircase and proceeded to walk up to the 3rd floor. ''Pick a room my dear, any room''
Caroline went silent after John's explaination, deciding not to comment on how ludicrously oversized the staircase seemed for her. She wouldn't be surprised if an entire Chameleon could fit in there.
- Hm? - she seemed confused, hearing John's offer upon their arrival at the desired floor. - Any room? - she asked with a baffled expression.
- Hm. Do you have any large ones? A good view outside would also be excellent. - she took a few steps down the corridor, taking a peek into the closest room.
He laughed ''Of course, they all face onto the gardens. Plenty of sun, the middle one might suit you'' he said walking down to the center of the corridore and opening the door on the right. ''Here we are''
The room was large, a fine queen sized bed lay in the center left of the room, while walk-in wardrobe lay tothe right. In front of them lay large french style windows that provided a full view of the Gardens and the distant mountains. Immediatly right of the door was a vanity and mirror, and further to the right was an ensuite that had a shower and other such bathroom equipment. ''Will this do?'' he asked, standing aside so she could see the room properly.
