Kudos back
My only ... well, criticism, if it can be considered as such, is that your role-play was rather "dry" (not sure if it's the best word).
I do understand, and respect, the fact that you were trying to be professional (from an inRP point of view), but it gave me the feeling that I had to push you with messages/questions to even get any kind of RP from your side - otherwise you would've stayed silent.
Still, it's possible i'm being subjective so i won't judge you one way or the other based on a single encounter.
I look forward to meeting you guys again, in various circumstances.
Hey There!
Reading that post does bring up some worries for us. Thanks for mentioning it.
We do apologize if the RP we provided was Dry, (and yes, that's a fine word for it ), we do sincerely hope to provide interesting and enticing RP wherever we can. We failed today, and we apologize.
The intent however, for the Main Security Staff (The ones on Barrier Gate) is to provide a very professional, no nonsense appearance. Everyone is equal, no one gets preferred treatment.
Perhaps that's something we need to work on, in order to maintain that apperance, and still be interesting to people.
What we might suggest though, if you want to get into the personality of our group, why not extend a contract to them of some sort? Hire them to Fly Escort or Fight the Gauls with you, it'll allow a more open context to talk, as we would then be acting as mercenaries, rather than essentially Private Cops.
That's just an idea though, and we hope to do better in the future. Apologies Again!
First of all, there's no need to apologise. There's no harm done.
Secondly - about your ideas of "extending a contract" ... this is exactly the point I was sort of feeling as off the table from the start. The fact that your RP felt "dry" gave of an uninviting appearance to your group. Again - i feel that more interactions are needed for me to form a fully fledged opinion on this, but perhaps as the station's security you should try to be "inviting" to all people around the station, so that you get an influx of patrons/customers.
I for one suggest we stick to interacting some more times and see where it goes. Perhaps some form of diplomatic relations will sprout eventually.

That's certainly a possibility, and one we're always eager to hear, more RP that is.
Initially the idea was to present a more stoic extetior, to iRP discourage any kind of trouble, make people think twice about breaking the station's rules.
But if people simply do not enjoy that kind of RP, it's up to us to change it so people are more interested in playing with us. We can be as edgy as we want sitting by ourselves in a knitting circle, but if no one actually wants to interact with us, what's the point of that? We're trying to encourage people to come to Barrier Gate, not drive them away.
We'll change our act and hopefully provide you a better experience next time.

Please note that I neither can, nor wish to speak on behalf of all players... perhaps your RP felt odd to me but it will be very interesting to others, so you don't have to change the way you do things based on a single commentator's opinion.

Well thanks, but don't downplay your own opinion like that. We'll try things a new way, and see if everyone enjoys that more, including us.
Since it is difficult to justify enforcing anything on Freelancer ID, I'd suggest you to switch to Pirate ID/Freelancer IFF, as it perfectly matches the type of RP you are describing and also let you fine people and enforce the NFZ and other rules you might want to set.

That is actually very good id, the only probablem is the fact that several lawful bounty boards have
bounties against Pirate ID's ships.
Unless I'm mistaken, any indie lawful can also attack a Pirate ID
It's actually down to house laws, pretty much all houses have a Ban on Pirate IDs, using various terminologies for them which essentially makes flying with one grounds for being shot.
Edit: Apologies, you're giving a valid suggestio, and here we are criticizing it. Please forgive us
