If I don't donate, and they do, then I lose my right to lobby Titan for battleship buffs, and they get a right to lobby Haste for fighter buffs because he gets paid by them. Essentially it is them he is developing the game for, whenever he does something because he's paid and not because he likes it.
This looks like pay to win, at least to me.
This is a formal warning to you as a member of the community to not attempt to spread outright lies regarding the community management, ESPECIALLY as something as important as the donation drive.
All of the income from the donations go for three things. The upkeep of the server boxes, both forum and server, and - when needed, for the migration and setting up of a new box.
The development team, admins or moderators do NOT have access nor use the donation money.
We are not sure whether or not you have posted this as satire, but be aware that even off-the-hand references of something so sensitive can be damaging to the community.
You have been warned.
I posted that as a critic of my own proposal earlier, about which I had changed my mind before I wrote the critic, and which you obviously have not read...
This might help:

But developers only develop what is fun for them, because development is just another way to play Disco. Disco is being treated like a piece of art, crafted for its makers, not like a product, crafted for its consumers -- and art has much less consumers than products do. Thus, if the devs were paid, they would treat it like a product, and there would be less reasons for the consumers to drama about.
Unfortunately we can't pay devs, even with donations, as that would bring a whole new set of legal problems. We can't, right?
I had realized the harmful potential of this proposal, and then criticized it with what you quoted, before it could become dangerous. But the page broke there and a new one was opened. I suppose that you didn't read the prior one. You don't have to, but please take more time to consider the full situation while you are thinking about banning me, one day...
To make matters clear. I'm not quite sure what's with all this asking or demanding. Given it's not exactly a secret may I kindly remind here that I hadn't left Disco on good terms, alright? Quite the contrary. As there's only so much berating and insults from sociopaths in charge at that time I could tolerate while doing my job as best as I can given the amount of time I could allocate while digging into more complex FL modding stuff that nobody else here bothered to do. We had our differences and all that but I had no desire to leave things unfinished. If it isn't obvious yet I'm not brimming with enthusiasm and motivation here and I'm not going to be pushed into some quilt trip either, I value my time more than ever, but clearly some of you don't really value time of others.
You have received negative feedback and you are justifying yourself, which is perfectly alright. You haven't done anything wrong anyways. Someone just had an idea that could help you do stuff better. But no one said that you should have invested more time. You should merely have spent it more effectively. But you know that now even without someone telling you, I suppose, with so little of what you had planned accomplished.
You set your own asks and demands for yourself, those which you have not accomplished. When someone asks and demands about the same, you say that you are not quite sure what's with all the asking and demanding. Maybe you should have set more realistic asks and demands for yourself, and then you would understand.
Can someone lock this thread, please? My question has been answered and I thank @Shizune and @Treewyrm for that, but this has a good potential to evolve into something that would revive the Skype chats.
